There is not going to be a massive difference in what Loeffler did vs. what Fuente will do on offense. Fuente's offenses are just more consistent and better-executed, and he has said he will mold an offense to the skills of the players. This whole notion of a massive offensive overhaul is overblown. Yes, we'll have all new coaches, but the strategy won't be all that different.
Gotta save that money at the cost of the football program and fans.

Yep, the rational move was to bring Motley in for that throw. Against Purdue, he threw a ball 60 yards in the air on the run.
I would have even preferred Brewer dropping back for a hail mary and hitting Stroman or Ford on a 30 yard crossing pattern and see if they can get a block. That would work better than a hopeless 67 yard FG that could have been blocked in a GT/FSU scenario.
The 67 yard FG will go down with the Michigan fake FG after a TO call as the two worst in Beamer's history.
THIS. I was yelling at the tv like "WHY ARE WE CALLING TIMEOUTS." Best case scenario we were getting the ball back with like 35-40secs left after being lucky to be tied after all of the offensive mistakes. Sidenote, I remember our offense was able to move up and down on Miami all day but we just couldn't get out of our own way from terrible mistakes, that's what I look forward to under Fuente is the hope of finally getting out of our own way and capitalizing when were playing well

Which means that the search began last season, before(?) a publicly professed confidence in Mike London. All this year, they were just waiting to replace him. Wow.
I guess the theoretical limit will be when bowls lose too much money.
Somehow, between ticket sales, TV revenues, and sponsorship they're making enough to feel that it's worthwhile.
Exactly how did the rules screw us? Did they change them between the start of the season and now? If we won more games, we'd be going to a better bowl. We knew the rules at the beginning of the season. Just like single bad calls at the end of games; don't put yourself in a position to be undermined by a bad call or decision.
If you think this situation is worse than what happened to BC in the years they played us for the ACC championship, then I, in turn, don't know what to tell you.
The ACC has developed a system that guarantees less desirable programs can only fall so far in the selection process, without completely tying the hands of the bowls. This is a far, far better system. But if you want to lobby for a system in which no team can be passed over for a team with a worse overall record, then that's fine.

# | Fuente Kicks Off Recruiting Effort with Outreach to 2016/2017 Commits and Recruits I think I share the sentiment with many others that the wins and an offense that is putting up bigger numbers/getting lots of skill players involved is going to sell itself for our offensive recruiting, and the winning will help sell those defensive players we have been whiffing on too. Kids like to win, its an undeniable attraction.
My point simply being that the way the ACC does their bowl selections doesn't reward merit or better records, and in this year's example doesn't even reward the bowls financially. The Belk bowl is probably not terribly thrilled with having to take NC State or Pitt as their only choices.
If you can't see that the actual players for Pitt got screwed, then I don't know what to tell you. They had a pretty good season and their reward is probably to get run over by Navy at their home stadium.

The root cause of the slide is not missing on 1 or 2 "game-changers" - a misnomer because other than perhaps QB, there really is no such thing as one individual player being a "game-changer". Everyone seems to only notice the guys VT doesn't get and conveniently forget that Kendall Fuller was an elite recruit - a "game changer" if you will. Yet when he played in every game last year...7-6. When not healthy and missing almost the entire season this year...likely 7-6.
The root cause is that the number of players (in '11 & '12 in particular) who were expected to be solid or better performers that simply did not pan out at all was quite high. If those classes each get 3 or 4 more contributors, VT is likely still the program to beat in the Coastal division.
Except that they don't.
Pitt got screwed way more than we did (and we really didn't get screwed, just feels that way). Granted part of that is their poor poor fan support. But there reward for 8-4 is playing against a really good Navy @ Navy.
Yeah, I really like Mark Richt. And I can envision a scenario where his soft hand is the guiding force that gets all that Miami talent to finally play together. He does have the resume and the gravitas to garner those guys respect.
But I can also see where this is a massive cluster. UGA fans hated Richt's conservative playcalling. If they get really conservative, lose some close games, he could splinter from that fanbase (?) really quickly.
