I too thought that comment in the interview was surprisingly harsh. He said the punter cost them a TD. As a coach I don't feel like you can lay all the blame on one guy like that. After all the Clemson d still surrended 30+ yards and the TD after the fake. Normal coachspeak would be to spread out the blame and say mistakes happen and we as a team need to be better. But dabo let it rip.

Don't mess with a machine vying for #1 in the CFP, I guess. I don't have a problem with Dabo takin' it to his punter but what bothered me a little was when he tossed his punter under the bus in the half time side-line interview he had. That's not going to sit well with a lot of folks. I lost some respect for Dabo with that move.
On the flip side, injuries are a cost of doing business for a football player.
They are expected to - and do - play with "minor" injuries that many of us would see as fairly debilitating and the perfect opportunity for extended couch therapy - and maybe, perhaps, wishfully garner some sympathy from family and spouses...
My most head scratching / frustrating 2015 moments would be
1 Starting and continuing to play Stroman at CB against ECU
2 the OT play calling against UNC
3 never adjusting to the pass rush against Pitt (screen/roll out/anything)
4 lack of pass rush / sacks from front 4
5 clock management vs duke, no excuse for running clock in regulation
6 bone headed procedure/ offsides penalties, way too many this year
7 returning kickoffs out of the end zone to the 15 yd line over and over

VT has done great with the 3* kids. Even the top-rated 3* kids. I still think that some of those 4-and-5 star kids would have made a difference. Losing Fuller and Brewer this year made a difference. They're both game-changer type guys. When you're playing the better teams, and playing them close, you need those kinds of guys.
If I had to pick between team cohesion and highly-rated players, I'd pick team cohesion. If I had to pick between highly-rated players that our coaches want, and settling for their second-choice, I'd rather get the players our coaches want.
If Carolina and Miami are getting higher-rated players AND have good coaching, they're going to be the teams to beat in the ACC Coastal.
I think we'll see a difference going forward. Whit did a great job with this hire.

There is no magic formula for the elite recruits, but the most consistent draw is winning. So, from a time management standpoint, we must focus the recruiting efforts on the 3-4 star guys until we have something we can sell the 5 star guys.
Motley coming in after Brewer was back once or twice a game and run the "wild cat" to "throw off the defense" when everyone knew he was always gonna run it. Always tackled for a lose, then Brewer comes in.
He'd have to do it once in the NFL. Apparently (news to me) the fair catch kick isn't a rule in NCAA.

Well except that LOLUVA doesn't have anyone recruiting right now. No one will know who is on the LOLUVA staff until Dec. 20th. I'm thinking the LOLUVA class will lose a few kids.

Uh oh. Some of them are starting to do the math.
I think a lot of people lost some respect. I get the pressure of the CFP, but he looked like he completely lost his cool. Absolutely make sure he knows just how bad he F-ed up, but to keep going back in for more made him look out of control. And I completely agree with you on the halftime interview. I guess he really felt like he needed to make sure everyone knew he didn't call for the fake.
BTW, who saw that and immediately thought of our own fake punt debacle?
