The justification above of "I didn't want my post to get lost among other comments" strikes me as a "look at me!" kind of attitude, in contrast to what is expected:
In other words, don't post or comment or topic for the sake of it.
New threads should either provide significant new information or something to stimulate discussion. We already have a huge jumble of stuff in the Tracker at the moment, and as I said above, an unsourced rumor that something is happening merits a comment on the existing thread dedicated to that purpose:
...one thread to collect information, whether from #sauces, tweets from the coaches or people close to them or any other source.
Noise pushes other topics down the Tracker such that they may not get noticed and it generates the increased likelihood of duplicates, which is more noise.
As if I needed another reason to hate Pitt...

Pitt has no fan support and, unfortunately, few actually care about Pitt football. ACC/Bowl Committee probably didn't want to lay an egg at a Tier 1 bowl game with a half empty stadium and a 0.5 t.v. rating.
Now explain 2010 Gator Bowl? ACC allowed 6-6 FSU team to jump GT, VT and Clemson.
Who F'in cares if it has its own thread? What are you the thread topic police? What does the extra thread F up your bandwidth? If you don't want to read it then don't open it.

ACC has 3 divisions?
If you invite a Pitt to join your conference, they're gonna fuck up your bowl situation.
Man they didn't even make it to a bowl game and they fired their coach after having one off season. BTW for anyone that doesn't know, I live 45 mins from Greenville and I see students wearing shirts that say "Beat VA Tech", so I guess they are rivals to us? Is this a one sided relationship?
I hate them a lot.
Step 1. CFP/NY6/Orange Bowl picks.
Step 2. Russell Athletic Bowl picks.
Step 3. The Tier 1 bowls get together and pick. There are four bowls (Belk, Sun, Pinstripe, and either TaxSlayer or Music City.)
Step 4. Tier 2 bowls pick. (Military, Independence, Quick Lane).
Now, a bowl can select a team that's within 1 win of the next eligible team. Meaning, if there is a 7-5 team and 6-6 team available, the 6-6 team can be taken. But, if there's an 8-4 team, the 6-6 team can't be taken first. Conference records have no bearing in bowl selection.
Clemson, UNC, FSU, and ND were all 10-2 or better, and were expected to go CFP/NY6 and RAB (which they did). Then, Pitt and Miami were 8-4. Duke, Louisville, and NC State were 7-5. VT was 6-6.
The expectation was that both 8-4 teams would get taken in Tier 1, and that would make VT eligible, as they could jump the 7-5 teams. However, the Tier 1 teams selected Miami and the three 7-5 teams. Therefore, Pitt got dumped into Tier 2.
I think worst case scenario was that only two of the good teams would go CFP/NY6, and then the third would go to RAB, and that would leave one for Tier 1. Even with both 8-4 teams, there was still one Tier 1 slot that we could have jumped into over the 7-5 teams.

The Belk wanted the Hokies, but the ACC does not allow a Tier One bowl to select a 6-6 team instead of an 8-4 squad, and with Pitt still on the board, Virginia Tech was unavailable. So the Belk chose N.C. State.
Although it seems like Tech's decision to pick either Military or Independence Bowl, wasn't up to Frank Beamer.

Yeah, this sucks donkey balls. Entitled or not, this situation is a fail in every possible way.
But we are talking about the VT offense here. Even if they are third is the worst, we will find a way to make it close... just seen this happen to many times. Frank will never run up the score.
If you want to fly in to a big airport, you should be looking at Dallas which is a ~3 hour straight shot of interstate to Shreveport. Maybe a little less thanks to Texas' 70mph speed limits. Flying into Shreveport Regional will definitely be more expensive, but I would compare costs of both options as you might end up paying the difference in time lost due to travel and gasoline. Houston would increase driving significantly and further cut into your time and travel budget with gas.
If you drive from Virginia (we'll say Richmond), it can be done in a day and a half. Less if you trade off driving/sleeping time with a friend.
O/U on LOLUVA personal fouls next season is up to 22. Mendenhall coaches one of THE dirtiest teams in the country. I was nearly rooting for UVA last game vs byu, they were that dirty
What can you tell me about the drive in? Airport? Hotels? How far away (time wise) are the big airports of Dallas and Houston and any others you would think of?
I think the point was that Nike is making a big deal out of this rebrand, so we'd better at least get something that stands out when you see it.

Bowl selection using the structure from 5 years ago is irrelevant now that we've adopted the pool system. Bowden used leverage that is no longer possible.
