He's saying that IF a 3rd wide receiver had emerged, it would speak highly of his ability to develop them. A 3rd receiver not emerging isn't an indictment, but it's not an endorsement either, we just don't know what to make of it yet.

Outflanked other schools on the job market to hire hot name Justin Fuente away from Memphis. And helped convince stud defensive coordinator Bud Foster to stay on staff. A tricky task couldn't have gone much better.
It's pretty obvious this shit is a popularity contest when Ford scores 3 TDs in a game and the ACCs Receiver of the Week is a kid from Miami with 1 TD on 139 yards.

Thanks for the terrific work you are doing for Virginia Tech and the entire Hokie Nation. Great job you've done securing Justin Fuente as our next great head football coach. You are doing a stellar job when compared with some recent Tech AD's. No disrespect intended. Keep up the great work!

I think we can probably cool it on the criticisms since this is literally the first person we've offered with the new staff. They made this offer less than 24 hours after Fuente arrived in Blacksburg. Let's have some faith in the new staff.
With VT's proximity and Beamer's final game, this is about the only time I think the bowl and the school would both not mind repeating.
