Tied for 9th with 2 separate 0-6 weeks? I'll take it.
In the SiriusXM College Sports Nation audio file, any one else notice that the statement about retaining Shane Beamer was not addressed?
No screen cap. Not like it was groundbreaking, it was just "HOKIES" overlaid on "757" like many of our typical graphics. Just thought it was noteworthy that he was already on the trail in the VT hotbeds.

"WOOOOOO!"

You guys agree. He's saying that IF a 3rd wide receiver had emerged, it would speak highly of his ability to develop them. A 3rd receiver not emerging isn't an indictment, but it's not an endorsement either, we just don't know what to make of it yet.
please tell me this got screen capt'd! (link broken)
well done Sir
Wonder if an uncommited guy (football) like Grant Holloway would be interested in coming to VT again. He's going to Florida for track??
We were his "leader" and then Georgia & Florida stepped in, have to think Fuente could change his mind.
Size doesn't mean as much as people think. One of the hardest hits I took playing ball in high school was from a kid about 5'5" and maybe 140 lbs. soaking wet. I was 6'3" about 260 lbs. at the time.
Maddy to Smoke:

Pat Forde has some nice words for Babcock in his weekly column:
Athletic Director of the Year: Whit Babcock (22), Virginia Tech. Eased legendary coach Frank Beamer into retirement without acrimony. Outflanked other schools on the job market to hire hot name Justin Fuente away from Memphis. And helped convince stud defensive coordinator Bud Foster to stay on staff. A tricky task couldn't have gone much better.
It's pretty obvious this shit is a popularity contest when Ford scores 3 TDs in a game and the ACCs Receiver of the Week is a kid from Miami with 1 TD on 139 yards.
As Ford said post game, "I guess next week I need to score 4 touchdowns."
This article belongs in a Whit appreciation thread. So many AD's either outsource or botch this process while Whit just takes 100% ownership of it and does so with pure class...

Dang, I *could* be winning if I didn't miss a week >.<"
RealDiehls playing spoiler this week, almost pulled off a big spoiler upset over Pierson this past week until Duke Johnson failed me. Never bet on a Miami man.
I'd say they are gala apples and granny smith. Its a good comparison. Good players
as for Stonewall Jackson (Northern VA) which is a VA HS powerhouse with a much more fruitful pipeline than anybody from Oklahoma.
I know your joking but I looked it up anyway
there's no Wiki for Stonewall But Booker T. Washington High School (Tulsa, Oklahoma)

Only seen 2 special teams plays so far, a kick returned past the 25 yard line and punt that was almost blocked by 2 Memphis players that resulted in a roughing the kicker violation. not too shabby.
I think that was Maddy's response to Smoke talking shit.
One of the most insightful things I've read on TKP. Well done.

That gif is amazing! LEGS!
Thanks for the terrific work you are doing for Virginia Tech and the entire Hokie Nation. Great job you've done securing Justin Fuente as our next great head football coach. You are doing a stellar job when compared with some recent Tech AD's. No disrespect intended. Keep up the great work!
Mayberry was pretty excited to have an offer from us on Twitter.
I think we can probably cool it on the criticisms since this is literally the first person we've offered with the new staff. They made this offer less than 24 hours after Fuente arrived in Blacksburg. Let's have some faith in the new staff.
With VT's proximity and Beamer's final game, this is about the only time I think the bowl and the school would both not mind repeating.

but my eyes need to see every Fuente action right now! I needs all the infos!
