I wanted to say the same thing about Ford. There has to be a reason he isn't the top vote getter right? I'm just glad he was recognized as first team.

Whit has done amazing things for the Athletics department at VT, and I am sure as hell glad we have him here. I really don't think we could ask for any more than he already does for us, and he does so much. He just gets it.
I'm so happy by this, but at the same time feel a little sad that my last letter of intent had many fewer zeros in it.

As far as jumping teams, we have to be within a game of the team to jump it. We cannot jump a team with 2 more wins than us. Only Louisville, NCState, and Duke are options to jump; Miami and Pitt (& F$U) are out.

In a weird way, BC won this year. Their injuries at QB and RB were so debilitating that it kept Addazio off the market. If he was on the market, he would have landing a spot. BC is clearly a "stepping stone" type of school and he's a good coach.
It's probably only a one or two year reprieve, Addazio will leave soon enough, but it has saved them for now.
I find it interesting that he has full reign over the 9 assistants, considering VT already has a contract with Foster. It appears Fuente has full discretion on Foster's pay and the rest of his defensive staff.
Yet only one of those letter writers is currently employed.

I did that too, then I thought maybe they just misspelled his name, so I tried "Virginia Tech." Nothing after the other guys. "Va Tech." Nothing....

Fuente said he doesn't want to leave his defense high and dry. He's more concerned with controlling the tempo than pushing it. He said that in interviews. In any case, I think his offense will have more success moving the ball than any offense we've had over the last 10 years. I think 3-and-outs by our slow clunky offenses did more damage to Bud's group than any successful up-tempo spread offense would ever do.
Think of it like this; Bud is used to sending his defense out to defend a team after our offense has a quick 3-and-out several times over during a game with the added pressure of having to prevent a score just to keep the game tied and manageable. Now, with the proven ability of Fuente to put points on the board, the worst case scenario is Bud will have to put his unit on the field with the same frequency but more times than not will be protecting a lead as opposed to trying to keep the game within reach.
I'd take the successful up-tempo every day of the week and twice on Saturdays over the slow clunky 3-and-out machines we've grown accustomed to around here.
