Just as much, if not more of a concern.

just so damn good looking
It certainly is a possibility. Honestly though I think if Bud leaves it will be on his end and not Fuente's. For what its worth Fuente played at Murray State and so did Bud. At least there is a little common ground to start from. Also I believe Fuente retained Memphis' DC when he arrived. I'm not sure if he was already the DC or if he was just another coach on staff, but that does show he has kept a coach from a previous staff. I don't see how Fuente wouldn't try hard to keep one of the best DCs in college football.
I'm not worried about anybody's ability to learn a new scheme. I'd be more worried about Foster's prototypical undersized linemen being able to play in a more common scheme
That would be devastating
There really shouldn't be a rebuild
Even if Foster leaves and Fuente (assuming he's the hire) brings a defensive coordinator who implements a completely different defensive scheme? Is a completely new defensive scheme something our boys could pick up in 15 spring practices, and 21(?) preseason practices? I'm doubt that we will see some improvement on offense, but I'm concerned that our defense may be a wet paper towel for a year or two if they are unable to pick up a new scheme.
The one good thing with Fuente as far as Lawson is concerned is that he has developed two great QBs in Andy Dalton at TCU and now Paxton Lynch at Memphis. I just found out yesterday that Fuente played QB for Oklahoma for two seasons and then transferred to Murray State and set records there. The guy is a former QB and knows how to develop QBs.
Thanks for volunteering to take inenfor the team
They have 4.5 million base to pay a new HC?
They have money and Mullen wants to get back to the midatlantic. I could see it.

# | Dan Wolken tweets Fuente to VT "is happening" but stops short of saying it is a done deal. I agree. The cupboard isn't bare. Not a ton of depth but definitely not bare. I fully agree on Lawson. Lets see him do something first. I know he hasn't played much....but he didn't exactly look like Tyrod when we threw him in as a true freshman and you could tell he was the real deal immediately.
If this was leaked out there my initial thoughts are that he is seriously interested in our job. IF there have been discussions and is some interest between Mullen and our school this could have been leaked by his agent to put pressure on us to hire him and or come up with more money if that is an issue. Just another way to say if you don't hire me or meet my demands, I will make your life miserable. Obviously just purely speculation based off of a potential rumor. I would think Whit would have to call his bluff if it came down to it...no way in hell he would go to UVA.
Tech bball fans should really let this topic go. Its not healthy. Im not a VT grad so I support another team in bball but I recently found out the Grant Hill wanted to go to that school but the HC at the time didn't seal the deal and the rest is history. If he had gone to.................oh well.............let it go let it go................
Make sure you choose your Misses for Saturday
I resemble this, and I had the Panthers D :)
I can't watch that movie anymore because my father passed away before all 3 of his grandchildren were born. I would give anything for them to be able to meet him just once.
I've gone on quite a few interviews just to practice, see what they were offering and feel out what was out there. I was not interested in the new position.
To not do so is ridiculous.
There really shouldn't be a rebuild. Tech is fairly deep on the Dline and secondary as far as numbers. The players are young also so it should be easier to adjust to a new system being that they haven't been in the old one for 3 yrs. The LBs are the issue because they are thin but hopefully if we can score more points the D will remain fresh longer. It shouldn't take Fuente or any other offensive minded coach 3-4 yrs at Tech because we have every piece in place but the QB. I think Lawson is the future but he is unproven............

No precipitation? It'll be raining Hokie touchdowns
Now, this is comical... Mullen and LOLUVA

Vtech should be above just getting to bowls. That's the problem IMHO. VT under Beamer still carries itself like it is the little engine that thinks it can. If Oregon can be a national power there is no reason why VTech can't be a national power. We are the big boys, in a big conference and with big facilities. It's time to move on from this little brother mentality...........it's been time................
And you really arent wrong in that assessment. I wouldnt recommend anyone watch the first half of season 1. Just really terrible.
Basically when the show got ok'd the whole "SHIELD is HYDRA" Winter Soldier thing was already planned so they had to kill an entire 11 episodes with filler.

Good for him. I hope he makes it.
