For the first time all season (minus ohio state i suppose) mother nature is looking favorably on us!
The UNC game was rather nice for a Saturday in November. Can't complain about that one, either.
But you couldn't have asked for more from the guy being put on the spot on that stage.

-Texas Tech beats Texas aided by a fake victory formation trick play during second-half shootout.
Teller and Nijman don't even play for Bud and yet they could be considered successful recruits for "his" side of the ball.
When you can point to a season where half of our starters came here to play offense, you can accurately criticize the defensive shortcomings in getting people to VT.
You'll find seasons like that, but you'll have to go back a few years
Not everyone gets to be an astronaut when they grow up. Some of us have to be sanitation engineers.
Now I will always picture the next head coach as coming back in time ala Termination Genisys, with the older and more experienced Bud Foster standing there to say, "I've been waiting for you."
I tried to stay away from this one, but it's so bad I can't leave it be.
To summarize the opinion of this post:
"Some people may prefer to keep Bud, which is ludicrous, but I recently made a questionable decision to switch jobs and I'm doing okay.

There are very very few good football hcs in the world, it's their market to get what they want.
yes, and if we were looking to hire Saban, Meyer or any of those "very, very" good HCs then I would agree. But we are not. We are looking at up an comers that while all are trending up have very little HC experience to say they are "very, very" good. So risk management is necessary.
the point you are making about the HCs job depending on the performance of his staff is exactly the same as the managers in my company, and in many non-sports businesses. That's a common structure.
I do understand the point that it could dissuade HCs from even considering the position. That could happen, yet my counter is that it's Bud Foster, not some unknown quantity. If we are hiring a Offensive HC then retaining one of the best in the business is a smart move, especially if the HC in question is planning to bring in an up and coming DC. Now Bud still needs to follow in step with the HC and that could mean changing his defensive scheme, perhaps to make it less gimmicky. Who knows. But that's on Bud. If he doesn't want to do that then he is free to leave.
But I don't see how retaining him on staff should be a deal breaker most think it is.

It's honestly that big of a deal to you? Larry Bird went to IU for a year before dropping out and eventually ending up at Indiana State. I wonder if the Internet existed back then if Indiana fans would be even more obnoxious about that miss/screwup/whatever you'd want to call it than VT has been about Steph Curry.

If we are in a bowl game, it will 100% be coached by Frank. Some of the assistants may be gone but a new coaching staff would not put a new system in place in 2-3 weeks.
