It's fun to talk about...but I'm starting to grow weary of the discussion. The overconfidence in each rumor baffles me. At first it was exciting but I'm starting to get to the point where I wish they would just name the next coach already so we can start analyzing his background and doing deep dives into film reviews of teams he's coached. This speculation step is tired and we need to get to that next step soon.

all that being said, I think we can all be happy that Christmas is coming to Blacksburg early this year :D

Navy at Houston PK
Baylor -1.5 at TCU
Ohio State at Michigan -2.5
Ole Miss -1.5 at Mississippi State
Notre Dame at Stanford -3.5
Florida State -1.5 at Florida
Oklahoma -4.5 at Oklahoma State

The pick six comes to the last week..

Navy PK
Baylor -1.5 --- Bears still have a chance to play for
Ohio State +2.5 --- Still big talent gap
Mississippi State +1.5
Stanford -3.5
Florida State -1.5 --- The SEC east is really bad
Oklahoma -4.5 --- Baker Mayfield is that dude

IDK, I think Fuente still fits the bill. The recruiting prowess is kind of subjective and we're not sure what this guy's definition of good recruiting is. Fuente might be an ace recruiter in his mind even if he isn't in the minds of others. I think that the QB Coach / Spread Offense tags indicate that this guy doesn't have as much of a defensive background which is why I think it eliminates the defensive coaches (Smart, Miles)

I'm fanning the flames a little bit here too but we can't necessarily rule out Bud either. He didn't specify the capacity in which the "recruiter/spread/QB Guru" was going to be hired/working. It could mean that Bud is the next HC and he's lined up an ace OC. (FWIW, I seriously doubt this scenario but can't discount it)

If you look at Whit's track record for hiring coaches Dan Mullen probably makes the most sense. I still think Tom Herman is going to be in Blacksburg come January. One name I haven't seen yet (probably due to his lack of HC exp.) but who might be an interesting hire IMO is Lincoln Riley.
