I am digging that fishing logo. Saltwater any?
We have officially entered crazyland. All I am sure of right now is that it isn't Curt Newsome. I sure hope I am right about that.
Correct. I was just going to correct that point.
Just please don't be RichRod.
He didn't officially get the raise. The president and AD were approved to offer him the raise as a part of a new contract. Same with Fuente. As far as I know, neither have signed new contracts.
I read that as he literally broke the scoreboard.
Don't forget about his WR turned QB and working with a backup QB this year. It does make a lot of sense.
Upon further thought, the tweets that French posted earlier seem to suggest this is a guy with VT connections rather than Texas school connections (SMU, Houston) He may know who our future coach is, but I think the fact that he is from Dallas is just a coincidence.
Herman turned a former wide receiver into a beast at QB this year
Yeah. Im not sure this guy was that concerned with defining them perfectly. All we have is that little bit of info to over analyze. Given what Ohio State did in the playoffs last year you would have to think Herman would be considered a very good QB coach with just that alone.
These are my conclusions as well.
When I first saw the Herman reports, this was my first thought.
From what I am reading it may not be a done deal, but that it is very close and that it is believed that Houston made that offer in attempts to keep him there.
that just leaves Herman, and Morris
Not sure which I would like better:

Herman has been reportedly linked to Mizzou and USCe. I haven't seen him linked in a report to VT, which would be similar to how Whit hired Buzz.

USCe report: http://collegead.com/university-south-carolina-20/
Of course, he did just get a raise at Houston. It's just a guessing game at this point.
The description fits Herman more than anyone, to me at least.
QBs have put up phenominal numbers when he has coached this year. You may be onto something.
All fixed. Not sure why had Morrison on the brain (besides the fact my wife works for a firm called Morrison & Foerster)
OK....looking back at this: Great QB coach, recruiter, and spread.
The recruiter part probably rules out Fuente.
The timing part would have to rule out Fedora along with likely the QB part.
Everything but spread rules out Rich Rod.
If it were someone who has been a winning HC for awhile it would rule out guys like Richt, Patterson, or most any other big name coach ect. I would think he would have mentioned something about winning or experience in his decription.
Really that just leaves Herman, and Morris...maybe someone like Sumlin but I would have to think its one of those two.

If one believes in the simplest inductive inference, the cumulative data out there (although somewhat speculative) suggest Morris.
Morris has a very strong VT connection (I argue the strongest). Morris is on record on his admiration and desire for the VT HC job. Probably has no real reason to stay at SMU. If it's already a done deal (or virtually done), Morrison has the easiest way out (no bowl, not as many hard feelings). And as you pointed out, Houston and Memphis are trying to entice their coaches to stay. All other major coaches are not leaving their jobs unless they're fired.
Hiring Morris looks good on Whit's end. Morris's offense beat up VT pretty bad the last times they competed. Morris has proven he can improve an ACC offense from mediocre to elite levels. Little Beamer and Bud have GREAT chances to stay on staff.
Isn't this guy, in that area, looking for a job? Maybe he'll start his HC career at the college level:

I have heard enough misinformation in the last 24 hours to know that I don't have a friggin clue who this is going to be.
If you still have a few tears left in your eyes, get ready to shed them
yep, I did. I may not have any left after tomorrow. I heard SportsCenter is doing a segment on Beamer at 8:45 and Gameday will do one at 9:30. I'm sure I will cry through both of them

I think it's going to be someone that was born at some point in the past. That's about as far as we can narrow it down.
