Even if we were able to lure him away from SMU, it sounds like there would be a big risk for him to go back if Texas or A&M were to open up.

From a Scout.com article on Wednesday:

But I was able to confirm Strong explored bringing both Chad Morris and Tom Herman to Texas as offensive coordinator when Strong was first hired at UT in January of 2014.
Morris, now the head coach at SMU, had a $5 million buyout at Clemson for any job other than head coach, and Patterson said no way (even though Morris would have come - that's how much Morris wanted to get back to Texas and get in at the flagship).

To sum it up:
-Charlie Strong wanted Chad Morris or Tom Herman as his OC
-Gary Patterson was also interested in Morris
-Morris wanted to get back to Texas (which may suggest he doesn't want to leave)

If he had no qualms with naming the new coach then why does he not now? Either he's just blowing smoke or he's gloating in his insider knowledge. It's kind of like how I torture my kids with the fact that I know what they are going to get for Christmas each year.

haha, sure dude.

My statement and this entire article, and the money all tell same story Beamer's success impacted every facet of the university and community. I didn't isolate the Arch program, you did. Not sure why you are obstinate to opposing views supported by facts, but fine. whatever. you only want to believe your opinion. go for it.

I was under the impression that both Strong and Patterson are defensive-minded coaches. I've really been leaning toward Richt lately, but the spread description doesn't really fit with him. Chad Morris would definitely fit the bill.

Okay, this tweet was posted almost an hour after Bruce Feldman broke the story and we reported it here.

I am looking through his history to see if he implied Loeffler prior to the Feldman story.
