Honestly? Be careful over there. We had a guy in a wheelchair trying to fight one of us (a big guy most of us wouldn't have dreamed of angering) and my car mechanic took a friend who was in his 80's and wearing his VT finest who was in the portajohn and a couple of WVU's finest turned the john over on him, door down. Couple of cops finally let him out and escorted him to his car where he discarded his clothing into the parking lot, wrapped himself in a blanket from the trunk, and then asked the cops to inform his companions of his whereabouts. This was before halftime. The cops assured him they'd do so, then they la ti dahed on back to the stadium and didn't bother to tell the guy's wife and friends. They finally got so worried they went out to the car just to see if he was there. Needless to say, they left. Two years later, as a joke, the guy's wife bought him tickets to the WVU game again. He burned them in the fireplace.
You poor man. Why the hell would do that to yourself!?!?
I don't know how Bud would feel about being looked over for Addazio but yeah I also like him as a potential coaching candidate.

Having been to several non VT loluva games, I can attest to the fun of wearing VT gear and loudly cheering against the 'hoos. Got some crummy looks, and several boos over the years from snotty young children, but aside from a couple of the games (I was at the stadium the night they beat Clemson for the first time, that hurt!) they usually lost and it was kinda fun. Of course, this was way back in the day when there were some fans around who seemed to care. Having been amongst them, living in the area and all, well, that's why I dislike them soooo much.
Huh? Learn how to do the job? Loeffler was OC at Temple and Auburn prior to VT. He makes about $500,000. This isn't a situation where we were supposed to be paying a guy to learn the job (that strategy was the previous decade with Stinespring as OC). As for the capable teacher under Beamer bit, limiting the offensive scheme has literally been the biggest complaint about Beamer during his tenure as head coach. A lot of people made the comparison to Gary Patterson, as he always relied on a strong defense but realized he needed to let the OC run the offense that puts up the most points. So... Yeah
I'm a big believer that you should rep your school at any college football game. I've been to Clemson/FSU and UF/UT, and I've worn VT gear at both. That's what's so great about college football.
Ah. Right. Saturday mornings......
Date a vegetarian, PETA-loving, hipster.....eh never mind, I'll just go to the game.
Two TDs, with the PAT missed on one, and four FGs.
f the offense can't put up at least an average output, sound the alarm on our odds until Brewer returns.
Just for the sake of a baseline, for those wondering:
Total Offense: 451.5 ypg
Scoring Offense: 33 ppg
Yards/Play: 6.4
Since I'd say Purdue is a pretty good median between Ohio State and Furman, I'd say those numbers probably reflect what we should reasonably expect to put up vs the Broilermakers.
No chance I'm driving. My car is crap, but even so I'd prefer not to have to get a new one. I'm not bringing or wearing anything I'm particularly attached to and I will feel no shame about using my girlfriend's WVU-fan-grandpa as a human shield if necessary.
This beat writer predicts a VT win with a final score of 25-16. I did a double-take, how the heck does one score 25 points in a football game? My head hurts...
Seriously, with their flapping heads and beady eyes.
Good luck. If you car has any VT gear on it expect some broken windows. Also its not really the students you have to look out for, its the older generation of fans.
Long answer: I would rather join Facebook and ask all of my relatives to tell me their thoughts on politics and society in general than attend a non-VT LOLUVa game.
Short answer: I would rather not.
That was a good map as well. Both are really cool
i would rather eat the urinal cake from the OP's picture....
Won not done?
Going off on a bit of a tangent/rant here, but that saying is one of the most arrogant things that I've heard in a long time. Maybe it's just that I've been spoiled by the blue-collar lunchpail work ethic that our coaches try to instill in our players. I like to think that if/when VT ever gets to that level of success, the motto would be something a bit less "we already know we're going to win again."
I just can't find it in me to have positive feelings for this year's OSU squad. Between the arrogance and the outright disrespect for others on social media that resulted in zero punishments on their players, they just rub me the wrong way. I don't like it when VT players do it, either, but when you're already on top it just comes off as worse.

Now that I got that off my chest, let's go beat some boilermakers!
It's like Canada goes out of their way to make us hate them.
It's like 2009 all over again. We've got a former Hokie QB looking to silence any doubt in the NFL, and lots of excitement for the current crop of QB's on campus. Only difference is that this time we've got multiple undergrads to be excited about. Good times!
Reminded me of Madden.

Yeah, at least Stiney got the ill-advised deep ball out of the way on first down.
Alright let me give this a try. I would rather not go to a UVA game than go to a UVA game? Huh, that was easier than expected.

Well, when they lost, and they usually did, it was a lot of fun to see it in person. Also, had some good friends in the area and got free tickets. Said friends always had a magnificent tailgate, and seldom were in the stadium for more than half the game anyway. Yeah, free food and drink wasn't enough to entice me, but the prospect of watching them lose usually was. And if you're wondering, no, I never missed a VT game to do it.
