My personal fave reaction: HHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH
Probably during one of the many ESPN3 timeouts.
Please, Whit... I don't care if you hire Lane Kiffin as our next baseball coach, just stop the freakin' paper airplanes.
Same goes for Capitals fans yelling "Red" or Barves fans yelling "Brave(s)". Stop.
May have started in Baltimore, but I've seen it done at every level of just about every sport. People did it in Lane at every game I attended.
Equal. I have zero respect for anyone who messes with the national anthem and I'm constantly ashamed that it's a thing at VT sporting events. Apparently it's from Baltimore, but it needs to stay there and then go away. Have some damn pride in your country.
The very quiet and polite mother sitting
Sitting?!? QUIET?!?!
"...with her two young daughters." Believe you me, I was plenty loud for all three of them.
A disrespectful habit traced to Baltimore Orioles fans. They make the same exclamation during the Anthem.
That's why I had concerns about him...
Unfortunately the best alternative isn't always a good alternative. Let's hope the coaches whiffed on this one...and either the small guy is much more capable of punching well above his weight class or the young guy is much more capable of playing beyond his years than they thought.
Unless I'm way off-base, I'm pretty sure it's a Baltimore thing that Orioles (O's) fans yell during the national anthem there.
I haven't been to Lane since 2009 so I can't comment on the paper airplanes (other than saying it's super shitty and should definitely stop).
But I did just buy tickets to the Purdue game on Saturday, and when I was checking out, they gave me 4 options: 1.) print a PDF, 2.) save a PDF to my phone to be scanned on game day, 3.) save it as a file for Apple Passbook to be scanned on game day, and 4.) Will call.
These are all wonderful options, and if another school is doing it, I don't see why we can't.
Yea what the hell was that?
I remember bits and pieces from that day. I had a rugby game and ended up taking a head across my face during a run. Broke my nose, felt a bit concussed, whatevs. Stayed in the game. I got home and there were about a dozen people in my apartment to watch the VT/ECU game. When I walked in, one of my friends said it looked like I had been in a car accident - blood everywhere, nose all crooked - but I just came in and sat down. At one point, I asked if anyone would take me to the hospital, since I was pretty sure my nose was broken and I had a concussion.... no one moved or said a thing. To this day, I'm not sure whether to be angry at my friends or proud that Hokie football meant that much to them. About 5 minutes later, I tried again and a guy I didn't know well said he'd drive me if I could use my car. That guy is now one of my best friends and most of this story I remember from him telling it. We got to the hospital and I saw the game on again - all I remember is David Wilson ripping off a crazy run - and I also remember seeing one of my teammates. We bonded over the fact that we were both there for broken noses and concussions, and my friend who drove me there decided at that point that he would never play rugby.
So yeah, that was an interesting day.
More annoying: the paper airplanes, or the 'O' during the National Anthem?
Anyone who can take Duke and make them into a football school is A-OK in my book.
So playing into this why doesn't VT have more technology at Lane? Wi-if, cell service, electronic ticket scanners?
Cutcliffe is a good dude.
and Trey runs right behind Tremaine's block
I like that there's already a good reason to steal this from vtfly!

You rang?
Lawson at the end of the third.

you owe me 50 bucks!
part of that has to do with the lack of pass rush. the longer they have to cover the more ordinary any secondary will look.

I think thats what it is. It has no place at VT and Im sure the idiots yelling it have no idea why they are yelling it.
