It happens, most of the time it is incidental. In 2011 beamer called out the MV's for cutting it a bit closer then he prefers.
When I hear "not serious" about an injury, I am not expecting missed time.
Two days later, and still I laugh.
say what?
This is connected with the debate about our return team bringing out kickoffs when they usually get to the 15 or 20. Someone (Egbert?) made the argument that this is, in fact, good strategy: the difference between starting at the 20 and starting at the 25 is not that great, but the difference between the 25 and the 35 is significant. So if you can make it to the 35 one time out of four, it's a good decision, even if you don't reach the 20 the other three out of four.
If I've got the logic right, it seems like the other side of the coin to say, it's better to kick the ball out of the endzone four times than to give them four chances to return it, assuming we stop them between the 15 and 20 three times and they reach the 35 one time out of four. Does that make sense?
Define serious. 2 weeks I would say is not serious. A torn ACL would be serious.
The only release from the training or medical staff was Mike saying "It shouldn't amount to much" which could mean he is fine or a week or 2. It is hard to say how long a guy will be out the day he injures it.
But this week would be his second contest this year as he did not play in the first.
It seems the noon start is on CBSSports and the 3:30 is on ESPN2. This is an AAC broadcast since it is in their stadium, so I'm not sure which of those broadcasts ranks higher. it might be the CBSSports slot since they seem to hold the primary rights for AAC. Maybe?
Looks like they are holding out Navy/UCONN and VT/ECU, so it does seem the winner of the ECU/Navy game gets the better slot. Just not sure which slot is "better" based on TV pecking order.
Brewer said 4-6 weeks, the medical staff said 8.
Beamer referred those asking questions regarding Motu to the team training staff today. Someone came on here and said it'd be 2-4 weeks, but no sources. So who knows what the situation is.
18 and a half surrender cobras in one picture?! Most impressive. Also, quite a few jaws getting ready to hit the floor there too.
WTF, they just said it wasn't serious.
I'm losing faith in the medical staff. There is less and less transparency these days, which is fine. They could go a lot more HIPA on us if they wanted to. But don't tell me something isn't an issue then say its an issue. Or don't release 4-6 weeks then say 8-10 weeks the next day.
I've got free tickets and a sweet tailgate/game time window if this is a nooner. So yes please. Nooner.
If the progress shown in these two games continues, you can mark me down as sold on Searels. I was pretty critical of his unit last year -- seemed like he didn't get much accomplished in his first spring and summer. So far this year he has overcome all my criticism. I just want to see him build on that success from here on out.
I thought the picture on the front of the RTD sports section Sunday was a classic for LOLUVA reactions.

I was referring to the famous "Mission Accomplished" shirts from last year
This is Wyatt Teller

Didn't look very fit either.
I came away being more unimpressed with the ND defense than impressed with Johns. Yes, he found open receivers more than a few times, but the Irish D didn't get any regular pressure from their line, and the linebackers and backs didn't seem to stick to their receivers very well at all. Underneath routes and crossing routes were there for the taking. They looked nothing like the team that throttled Texas last week.
Yeah, I have put on a few lbs since leaving the Army. I'll just leave it at that.
Or he left his windows rolled down and was afraid it might rain.
So can they get penalized if they ring them once the offense is lined up and the center is touching the ball?
There is a strong hint of personal experience to this post.
Ray Lewis referred to him as the human highlight reel after a preseason game. Regardless I think he rode the pine for too long, but that's a lot of time to throw some balls and get healthy. I see no reason why he won't have some level of success this year.

this is true.. i jumped the process but if shai plays vs Purdue don't see him not playing vs ECU
