Thanks for making me remember the ECU game last year /s.
What's the plan on reporting the results? Didn't TKP bribe an (of age) underclassman with beer last year to do the labor?
My guess is that Bud knows it and either doesn't have a better option or just hoped he would step up. I hope he does too as he seems like a great kid and if his play could rival his hair, he could strike terror into opposing ball carriers.
kick off return. He had everyone beat by about a step except the kicker

If you could somehow pair him up with Bud, I'd accept it.
I even think the Loeffler/Foster combo will work, but you need a dynamic recruiter as Heach Coach.
Get that guy on board, and you'll have something.

# | Bitter blog - Kendall Fuller on Cardale Jones' DBU tweets: 'They took the W; they can talk' Yeah, I didn't take it as cockiness. That's just something football players say in situations like that.
I'm not buying into it, but players are superstitious, and some fans more so. He said that, and then the next play he is in the game "a hell of a lot more" came at him. If you are superstitious, you will use that as proof that his own words came back to haunt him. My take would be that a 300 lbs. guy drove him into the ground and broke his collarbone (which happens when 300 lbs. guys drive you into the ground) and that it was an unfortunate injury that happened by coincidence. IOW, what he said in the lockerroom had no connection to what happened to him on the field. But you will not convince the superstitious otherwise.
As to the post-game tweets and comments by OSU players, I don't like it. I'm so old-school that I don't like sushing the crowd or other demonstrations. When you score, act like you have been there before, hand the ball to the ref, and hug your teammates. But if you go back and look at VT player's comments after last year's game, there was some of that kind of stuff, and the thing that particularly irked them was the stuff that came from VTplayers after they won the championship. I wish none of it went on, but we are dealing with teen/early 20's young men here. Probably best to ignore it all around - unless it gets way out of hand.
Bucky Hodges back at QB /s
Agreed.
I think at this point Motu is a known quantity. He either needs to be replaced with someone who can fill the right gaps, or Foster needs to game plan away from his glaring weakness. Given the reps he's had at that position, and that he doesn't appear to be improving, I think it's probably best he be given limited snaps this weekend in favor of getting the backups meaningful reps to learn the position.
I'm not trying to be all negative about him. Just trying to be objective. He'd be great in a different scheme, but he has to be willing & able to hit the right gaps with authority.
PS we play ECU until 2025.. wtf is that like seriously makes me sick to my stomach. why schedule an OOC game for 10+ years makes no sense to me. Hope Whit finds a way to buy this out.
Yes. And it's not just a case of the Mondays.

Agreed, if I remember correctly, he is the back that would hit the holes the best. That was the big problem with jcc and trey.
I'm sure it has been pointed out, but probably needs to be pointed out AGAIN that Motley scored a TD against OSU, which was more than Wisconsin did last year in four quarters.
Yea, it wasn't pretty and could have as easily gone bad, but he got the TD. I'll be expecting more from him this week, after a focused few days of Scott Loeffler lovin'.
Guys I think Rogers is a heady hard nosed football player too, but to think he is a better RB than most of the others based on a couple plays is just not true. He is currently not keyed on and thus not expected to carry the ball. I doubt the coaches think he is an every down option , if they did he would be the guy. It's not like there is a clear cut number 1, although I believe Shai will be that once healthy. Sam great asset but primary ball carrier he is not.
So....Im not sure if we are disagreeing or not. It sounds like what you're saying in your scenario, we know who is the clear cut QB1/QB2/etc. What I am saying is at the end of the game against Furman, I want there to be no question who the starting QB is outside of Brewer.
Also, I disagree with the QB rotation thing. We need one guy in there so he can build rapport with his guys and not second guess everything he does because he is afraid he's going to get pulled for the guy he's rotating with. We actually say Tyrod improve vastly once he was no longer rotating with Glennon for example
interesting..
Kiffen sure looked like he was able to teach Blake Sims how to throw TD's and read a defense.. granted he had a great WR to throw too. I have yet to hear any issues at bama other than everyone there loves his attitude and his love for the game. At USC kiffen had 2 1,000 yard receivers and a 1000 yard rb.. but that's just luck no effort from the coaching staff
Rich Rod seems to be doing a great job with team chemistry at Arizona.. A Redshirt Freshman QB for Arizona and look at that 28 TD to 9 Ints, but none of that is teaching a kid to play the game its just luck??
AT some point the past is the past.. Buzz Williams wasn't a clean slate either.
Who would you want VT to look at for a HC?
That avatar... it's so familiar...
200 yards rushing and 300 yards passing...all by Lawson /s
Nihilist Marmots take no prisoners!

The problem with Addazio is that is we put him and Buzz next to each other, the TV cameras retina would burn.

1 - Passing proficiency. We all know Motley can run the ball. I want to see quick reads and accurate throws. I want to see the ability to throw down the field.
2 - Defensive dominance. I heard all summer long about how our defense was ranked among our best ever. I didn't see much of that on Monday. I want to see the line getting penetration and making plays. I want to see lock down corners and better linebacker play.
