We don't.
Until Shai works his way back up the Depth Chart, JCC and Edmunds will be the 2 RB's getting the majority of snaps, with McMillian getting #3. Those 3 roles are pretty much fixed, with RB 1 getting 40-50% of the carries, RB 2: 30-40%, and RB 3 10-20%.
If Shai can beat out any of those 3 guys for playing time then he doesn't need to be redshirted.
What a looney tune.
Wait, Shane is going to have four running backs he's going to rotate?

BWs wing night no more in Greenville (home of the ECU Pirates). It became gang battleground and now can't stay open past 10 for remainder of the year. Bad apples ruining the bunch.
All I gotta say is, Marshawn better friggin redshirt.
I'm fine with it. If he's healthy and ready to go, play ball. You're looking at 4 running backs now, all of whom will be needed throughout the year. Guys get nicked up, keep them all engaged and ready to go when their number is called. The younger backs have a great role model in that regard, #4.
If McKenzie is a future NFL rb it won't much matter if he has a sophmore year with limited carries. NFL running backs on average have a shorter run than other positions so one less year of being a feature back might not be all that bad for him.
As for the team, only one game matters and right now that's OSU. JC and Trey with the change of pace McMillan looks like a good trio to start off with. GO HOKIES!

D. ALL OF THE ABOVE.
yeah what an idiot. The Avanti didn't come out til 1963
beat me to it.
Corey Marshall is going all in for the Corey Moore Most Quotable Award of 2015.
2005 and 2006 both had some pretty nasty defenses. Do they play into this equation?
We attack because they're across the field from us
.
We executed to a lethal level and it showed in the score
why isn't Corey speaking to the media every time!?
Cols Colas picked up a personal foul for going after their field goal holder in the 2003 game. Cols is now a member of the Miami staff ironically.
A friend of mine quoted Beamer as saying the 2003 team was the most talented team he had ever coached. Yes, better than 1999. He said they just fought everywhere they went though. The dining hall, the locker room, practice, and even in games (Deangelo Hall blowing up on Keith Willis after getting ejected from the Miami game comes to mind).
Gremlins, fairies, and leprechauns all the world over are giving you the thumbs up right now.
Good work.
I always look forward to your picks.
Since deer and thus venison, possibly live on the property of a farm, I'm gonna have to go with Bambi all damn day.

"We're dogs, through and through. Nothing changes because of the opponent. We attack because they're across the field from us. This isn't a special game. This isn't something we're going to put on a pedestal. When we step on that field, they bleed like we bleed and we're gonna show the world."
Now that's a five star getting after it kind of quote, Man.
Well, that's just it. The crowded backfield is the main point of the conversation. Why waste a year to be a cameo back?
Besides the ACL injury could play into it. If Shai is not confident on that knee, it will slow him down mentally.
We should call that like every play
I agree, but I would say Shai is our best tailback in two months, not currently.
