If you are worried about beer prices at the bar, I have one word of advice for ya:

"pregame"

Time tested economics.

Bud's not saying VT has a better defense than those other teams. He saying that we do some things better (and some things worse, I'm sure he'd admit, at least privately) and we play differently, meaning you shouldn't directly compare how Alabama played against OSU to how VT will.

It's not one dimensional, better or worse. It's about how players and teams match up with each other. You don't have to be "better" than Team A, to perform better than them against Team B. You just have to match up better and do certain things differently.

My Grandpa always said "Beer is beer".

Honestly not sure. I will likely get back to my apartment ASAP and watch on the laptop or out at Buffalo Billiards (DuPont circle) since I may miss the first quarter or close to it bc of work.

Ever been to Redline across from Gallery Place?

They have pretty good food and a solid selection of beers. At least one huge projection screen and tons of TV's around the bar & seating areas. Tabletop taps at some of their booths as well. Prices are typical for the area (so kinda pricey)

A cheaper option would be Hamilton's Bar & Grill near Judiciary Square. (not The Hamilton) I haven't been there but it was recommended to me a while back.

Last time tech played bama they had a huge o-line, i think everyone of those guys are in the nfl now, tech owned bamas offense that night, they did very little. Techs special teams blew up that night, that killed tech. My point is size doesnt allways bode well for teams vs tech and with techs d-line depth i dont see it happening this yr, last yr tech was young and depth was more of an issue.

Posted this before- if it's true that Loeffler's offense is as complicated as people claim it to be, shouldn't that end any talk of Lawson starting this year since he's a true freshman who didn't even enroll in the spring? Unless he's been blowing people away in practice this year that feels like a good way to waste what should be a terrific defense.

Tyrod is my favorite Hokie of all time and it isn't even close.

I can't even imagine anyone ever supplanting him, you couldn't ask for a better representative of our program.

good things happen to good people and i'm glad Tyrod finally got his due (now i can tell people the Bills' QB was in my 8 a.m. Finance class in Squires!)
