These helmets though would look awesome on top of white unis. I wouldn't be opposed to using it for some away games.

We sent more defenders than they had blockers. If the WR isn't open immediately, which they rarely are if we are playing inside leverage, then the QB is kind of screwed.
I do think the maroon should be the primary helmet. If we used the orange 1 or twice a year and the tricolor once and the maroon the rest, I would accept that as a win.
It might be a little late but I think a new vt football power hour should be good preperation

What did we have, 7 sacks? That young OL was overwhelmed by the end of that game. JTB threw two truly awful interceptions, he didn't do much of that the rest of the year. Your quality WR's (which aren't there in this game) just didn't get off clean from the line. And Zeke Elliott....you know....ran 7 times. It wasn't a great day for your playcaller or execution across the board.
Bud Foster gets a lot of credit for that, but at least 33% of that equation was you guys played awful on offense. If Wisconsin got that effort, they wouldn't have given up 59. If we got the effort you put on Wisky, we give up 35+.
Hopefully, first game, you may not be sharp again on offense (and the receiving corps situation). Because even Bud Foster can't stop this offense if it's as sharp as it was the end of last season.
I figure they will use three QBs, the first two we will terrify to death.

I agree. The leaked shot on beamerball's instagram looked like the pants and jersey's were solid with no stripe. It looked really good.

To your second point-yea, hopefully that's the case. But Urban did say Braxton will be the third string qb if it comes to that.

This has to be a permanent fixture in our rotation going forward. Add a maroon that has the same reflective sheen and a similar gigantor logo, and I'm happy. And if Nike uses these as the basis for our new uniforms going forward, even better.
This, a maroon version, and the tricolor helmets. For the love of God, let that be our rotation in the future.

Based on the video of him fielding punts doesn't have me worried about in the PR position. Miller is done as a QB, I think the coaches know this just waiting for the fans and Miller himself to realize it.
I could be swayed either way regarding the redshirt. However, if we do redshirt Lawson, he will be a 21 year old RS-Freshman! WAT. I didn't turn 21 until my senior year.

Will he be that player? no. But I do think he'll make the team.
if we got rid of the ugly stripes on our jerseys and went with 1 solid color with 1 trim color I could see this and maybe a maroon one being our two main helmets with 1 other surprise.
these really are sleek but also screams VT. not pumpkin orange but definitely a burnt orange look!

And Thomas has good numbers, but those aren't what jump out at you. The plays he made last year were absolutely insane. Plus he's 6'4, strong and a burner. Those are the reasons he's the number 1 WR prospect according to Todd Mcshay.

But, if you get on us like Miami, Pitt and BC did last year, we're in trouble.
I have redzone so I should be able to see most of his playing SINCE THEY'RE GOING TO BE IN THE RED ZONE ALL THE DAMN TIME NOW.
Possibly just the lighting (although it will be similar under the big ones in Lane possibly) but what really makes this jive for me is that it looks closer to true VT orange than what we're used to seeing.
I can see why he was underrated coming into this past summer. Plays on an apparently bad offense against bad competition and the coaches love having him out in space so there isn't much tape of him working against a big, talented DE or in pass pro. Hard to tell much solely from the highlight tape. I almost hate that he went out and proved himself at camps.
Anyway, he has a mean streak a mile wide that you have to love.

My point was, go back and watch tape on how Bud schemed against you guys vs how Narduzzi schemed you guys. Formations were somewhat similar (not really that similar) and that was about it. Our defensive assignments were very different from what Narduzzi assigned his defenders.
Narduzzi, for whatever reason, did not sell out to stop the run. Maybe he didn't trust his secondary, maybe he expected trickeration. I don't know. But Michigan State played you guys significantly differently than Bud played you. In fact, NOBODY tried to do what Bud did against you. They would come out in the Bear front, but they wouldn't play gap fill defense and leave their corners on an island.
He' a quarterback who will see most of his time at Hback this season due to a shoulder injury. He will probably throw some balls every now and then.
He will also be the punt returner.

Sounds like he is good to go.
The starter at quarterback will be announced when the first guy takes the snap. Both guys are close. Braxton Miller has had two great days of practice recently.
The pecking order at wide receiver: "Former Big Ten Player of the Year is doing well out there. He's all over the place. Braxton has looked good." Michael Thomas is a go-to guy. They expect big things from him. Curtis Samuel is also heavily involved. The redshirt freshmen will all have roles in this game and early in the season. "We're trying to work through that."
Early on there were growing pains for Braxton Miller at receiver. A move like this usually takes a year and a half to do correctly. "As of the last three days, he's...I don't want to say he's exceeded my expectations, but he's darn near ready to go.
