So down for a bar in DC. My gf and I will go to First Down. Look forward to meeting fellow TKPers!

I don't know about scoring 80% of the time, but I agree that at least tOSU will be scoring. I expect tOSU to convert a few more of those long passes than they did last year. To me, that 28 points is indeed the minimum VT will need to score to win. It'll mean that either the offense is actually working, and therefore giving the defense time to rest and less opportunity for tOSU to be on the field, or VT is actually connecting on explosive plays, which will mean that tOSU will have to back off and respect the VT offense.

If you were to tell me that the VT offense will score 28 points, I'd bet that VT would win that game.

Thats only a couple of metro stops away from FD. I would also hit up the TKP one, as though I don't really know anyone personally here, I at have a stronger connection to this community than the Alumni Assoc.

If you cannot make TKP gathering at First Down Sports Bar & Grill, I recommend the Hard Time Cafe in Clarendon, where the DC Alumni Association meets.

Know any good bars around that area? I know Ohhero is from NE DC too, so he may be interested in joining in as well if he isn't going to the game.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but seems like that draft tower has one of the many macro brews that I have moved on from. I'm not a gimmick drinker either, so I'd rather have a nice fresh craft beer. Just a personal preference.

I live in DC and get off of work right at 8 near the U street metro

I hear ya Joe, and I have every intention of hitting First Down up. I don't have cable and will need to head somewhere to watch the games, so I figure I have plenty of time.

However, with the game starting at 8pm on a Monday, other things come into play. For example, metro stops running at midnight. Meaning, I may have to leave before the game is over to get home. Heading to Arlington, Metro would be the preferred method of travel.

If I went to a bar in DC, I could walk home, which is why I was hoping there was somewhere closer to head this Monday.

Call me crazy but I really like the "glow orange" as a night time color. It pops when it's darker out and looks amazing under artificial lights. During the day however, I 100% want the tricolors or maroon helmets. They sit better with natural light and give the orange metallic helmets a "big game" feel.

The good thing for us this year for our CBs is that both would start for any team in the nation. Our third CB / Nickel was moved to FS because he's so versatile, and the CB that did the pick-6 against you guys last year is a back up CB!

Our secondary and DL are our strengths this year. If you wanted a weakness, you'd have to exploit our MLB due to lack of experience, but apparently he's coming along quite well too.

Sounds like I'm due for some Pussy Touchdowns! So which is more optimistic , in first with nowhere to go but down, or in last with nowhere to go but up?

I look for Miller in the backfield on play, QB (who ever it is) steps away to act like he's getting a call or changing the play, and a quick snap to Miller on a normal read option at some point. I think Foster will also modify coverages based on who is playing based on arm strength versus running threat.
