Slightly OT, but coming from the part of VA bordering eastern KY, folks back there are not flummoxed by the double negative. Particularly, in eastern KY, they have perfected the use of the triple negative. ex: No, I'm not gonna get you none.
So, is the double negative a positive? I don't never know nuthin' about that.
That's great and all, but my question is, "Why bother?" If the threat of bench time isn't real, don't make it.

I choose to believe it is because Searels is so absurdly confident in Teller that he wants to gets his second unit better. Any other theory I will disregard by sticking my fingers in my ears and yelling LALALALALALAALLA.
Thinking positive here. The fact that Teller is getting pushed is a good thing which means we got some depth on the OL. Not a lot, but some is better that none.
@ Brutus - I'm no expert, but I'd like to see what a 2 tight end formation to run the ball could do against VT.

Absolutely! For any investors that have a good amount of time until retirement, this is good news! Buy buy buy!
That's what we would like, but reality is different. Reality is we have not shown that we are a 10 win team since 2011. This year HAS potential, but it's ifs and buts all over again, just like 2013. IF our offense can fire and Loeffler can expand our playbook and IF we do not get injuries that expose our thin depth in key positions, then yes, we are a 10+ win team. If they do not work in our favor, I can easily see another 7-8 win team.

It depends on how close the back-up that is replacing the healthy starter is. I'd say no it absolutely doesn't make sense unless there is almost no drop-off between the two. There is a reason that the one player was a starter over the other. I don't get what SS is doing, but hopefully it works. Honestly with how seldom we go with 1s vs 1s I don't mind wyatt being on the 2nd team because he is probably getting a better look at what he will see during the season playing against the 1s.
But if you look at this team and don't consider them a successful power running team then I don't know what to say haha \_()_/ .
I think the term 'Power Run Team' = Power I/I formation to a lot of people. Whether this is the correct definition, I don't know, but I don't think I've seen an Urban Meyer offense line up in I Formation?
Foster's DBs bait guys into thinking they're baiting guys into thinking they're seeing a cover 3 when really they're playing an inverted 2 or man free with robber coverage in the middle instead of the traditional deep safety. Basically, it's lies. All lies. It's taken truly elite QBs to really beat Bud Foster's secondary - as in Luck and Rodgers elite. Yes, teams have beaten VT, but only the really good ones have beaten Foster without any of his defenders blowing an assignment.

If OSU can hit some screens when VT is bringing 8 they can take advantage of getting the ball outside with blockers. Last year they tried some jet-sweeps early in the second-half with success, but went back to their inside zone game because that's their bread-and-butter. Foster didn't adjust (because he correctly realized it was a ploy) and luckily VT preserved the lead (which meant they had to throw in the 4th.)
I expect to see much more complex short routes (VT had some good ones to negate the OSU pressure), some outside screens, and maybe some QB option if VT clogs the box again. (IMO)
The oline situation is clearly testing depth. I've never understood why teams get a guard or tackle hurt, and they plug the second string guy from that position into his hole...wouldn't it make more sense to plug the guard/tackle combo from the second string in for that game? They're the ones with experience with each other. The next week, you've obviously had the second string guy in with first string guy, so then they ought to be meshed well...my worry is not switching out the right guard during practice, to me, that either says the first string guy needs more reps, or we don't believe in the second string guy yet.
