Oh yeah, I'd spit Koolaid like it was my day job. Can't hate on fans enjoying the heck out of reaching the pinnacle of the sport. Still, with very few exceptions, every champ in the history of college football has had to come crashing down to reality at some point the next year....

The bright side is we really only had to replace one of them. Keihn was mostly a 2011-Wilson-depth-type player and Fisher was a guy we thought might help out on special teams. The overall talent level in the program has gotten to a point where losing those 2 guys off of special teams shouldn't result in 2013-coverage-teams disaster.

from my source (same as a couple weeks ago)-- it had to do with credits so they could transfer, not bad grades..

in easy terms athletes have to take 12 credits to be eligible.. if a player drops below that the next semester they must take 12 + amount of credit hours missed.

Say X player took 12 credits, dropped a class so they're at 9 they must take 12+3 more credits come next semester to make up. If X player doesn't finish/pass semester with all 15 credits they're academically ineligible

OT: Do you still live in Houston? If so can you email me at robbpoland3[at]gmail DOT com? Have some questions about the area.

Trust me, you don't want a power-running offense. That's the technical name for 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Stanford did this best when Harbaugh was there, and it wasn't great then.

Much better to be a spread running offense.
Spread the field, option D-lineman (leave them unblocked and guessing) and use your athletes in space. Up-tempo helps too. Think Oregon, Chip Kelly's Eagles, and OSU. If the defensive plan is to sit back and play your game, they've already lost. Alabama did this with great athletes last year and got killed.

The key to defending a spread is to play your assignment, beat your man to the spot, and make the tackle (with help if necessary.) By design there will be a lot of man-vs-man in space, and if the defender is late, bye-bye.

I'll buy them at a decent price! Have family visiting that I'm trying to get tix for.
If you're that superstitious, I suggest you sell them to me. Hokie Nation will be proud of you. /s

JK, glad your gonna be at the game, enjoy it and the atmosphere. Its gonna be electric.
