I never really bought that game planning It's still about blocking technique, reads, and tackling. Sure, some game planning is different but the fundamentals are the same; and we were beat by better fundamentals and thus out played and coached.
He had that one drive where he shredded us on the ground. I thought that was going to set the tone for the whole day, but I guess with no real proven QB to back him up, OSU kinda went away from the designed runs and scrambles in the rest of the game. I worry that with Jones proven as a asset as a backup that they might turn Barrett loose to run more, which has hurt VT in the past.
Also, I think I remember that Barrett was making his second college start and had a prolonged break between games due to missing part of his senior year in h.s. too. ,I doubt he will have that rust anymore. Bud better have a killer gameplan.

That is a spectacular breakdown. This really puts in to perspective how many available targets he is losing. Honestly I am really hoping Barrett wins the job because I think we can handle him far better than Cardale.
Haven't read much of this thread, but have been active in the /r/CFB thread on the issue. The individual in question was an All-American released from Boise State who transferred to Baylor.
WARNING The below information is from comments in the /r/CFB thread that may be attributed to #sources:
- FACT: He was kicked off Boise due to a "violation of team policy".
- *SPECULATION*: Player had an abusive relationship with a his now ex-GF while at Boise State.
- FACT: His GF never called policed, but on record described their relationship as "unhealthy".
- *SPECULATION*: Boise State Coaches had suspicions of abuse, and wanted her to come forward but she never did.
- FACT: The player "violated team rules" and was kicked off the team.
- FACT: Baylor then offers him a scholarship.
- *Sort of SPECULATION*: Baylor's staff did discuss his 'past' with him and with the Boise State coaches, and made a judgment call that this kid deserved a second chance. (I say sort of, b/c the player was quoted in an article saying [paraphrasing] "Baylor Coach is aware of my past, we've discussed it, and I'm committed to this team]

The questions for Baylor are:
- Are the past allegations true?
- If the past allegations are true, did Baylor know?
- If the past allegations are true, and Baylor did know, why did Baylor let him on the team?
- If the past allegations are true, and Baylor did not know, why did they not know? Did they not do their due diligence, or was it hidden from them?
I'm not sure what kind of investigation Baylor was supposed to do.
What is Baylor's responsibility here.
TL;DR - Speculation is that Baylor knowingly gave a scholarship to an individual with a history of domestic abuse. That individual has just been convicted of sexually abusing a Baylor Student.

Sure, I agree there have been some quick turnarounds in the recent past with programs like TCU and a handful of others. But there are also a lot of programs who have made change after change after change with little to no results. Are you telling me that Florida doesn't have just about all the financial resources they need at their disposal to hire the right HC/coordinator to coach all those blue chip recruits? Yet they've languished since Meyer left there, and had many changes. All I'm saying is that unless we can go out and convince the TCU OC to come to Blacksburg, then I think we've got to have at least a little patience. I don't think 4-5 years is asking too much to see what he can do with his recruits working in his system for more than a year or two. Lefty also hasn't had a Tyrod in his system, but I would suggest we should wait and see if Lawson can be our next Tyrod.

Rape is different from other crimes. It's extremely sensitive to both parties prior to a conviction or acquittal. It's essentially the only crime that the mere accusation can ruin your life, even if you are totally, unequivocally NOT guilty. And it's also the most contentious once the media gets ahold of it. Most people take definitive stances, and we get a trial by media. That irrevocably taints any and all legal proceedings relating to that case. So that's the one big thing that I feel like was a positive precedent in this case at Baylor. They kept the media out until the courts could resolve it. Once the verdict comes down, THEN the media should report on the story. Because only then will they have a pretty complete narrative, and won't risk ruining an innocent person.
False rape accusations are very rare, and far outnumbered by the amount of unreported rapes (not to mention reported rapes that are mishandled). The issue is that our judicial system requires evidence beyond reasonable doubt to prove guilt. Rape cases are often he said/she said cases. When the only witnesses are the victim and the accused, and the prosecution is required to prove that the victim failed to consent, there's often not enough evidence to warrant an indictment, much less a guilty verdict.
Launching isn't legal (you can get ejected for targeting), but it's difficult to outlaw hitting with your shoulder.
I don't know how you can outlaw hitting from someone's blindside.
I suspect some of these hits resulted in penalties.
