may not have been as "good" but he would have been just as physical, which is what the line has been missing for a long time. i'd rather have a guy out there making a few mistakes but planting people when he's doing it right than a guy that is doing it by the book but generating no push.

As a reference for how our run defense was with/without Chase. In parenthesis is the difference from their regular season average.

Ohio State: 108 yards (-60%) 2.7 ycp (-53%)
ECU: 75 yards (-54%) 3 ypc (-38%)
GT: 250 yards (-27%) 5.7 ypc (-7%)
UNC: 125 yards (-18%) 4.3 ypc (+8%)

Moto becomes full time starter

Miami: 364 yards (+102%!!!) 6.9 ypc (+30%)
BC: 258 yards (+1%) 5.5 ypc (+6%)
Duke: 141 yards (-22%) 3.4 ypc (-29%)
WF: 74 yards (+85%) 1.8 ypc (+38%)

Williams back

UVA: 38 yards (-72%) 1.1 ypc (-70%)

A few points:
1. Its difficult to tell how Moto truly affected the performance, as his playing time coincided directly with the power run teams, who we don't match well with anyway.
2. I left out Pitt because I could not get a split by quarters when Moto would have played, but we did actually hold them under their season averages for both stats.
3. We gave up 74 yards to a WF team that averaged under 40. I'm just stunned a P5 program can do that.
4. The numbers themselves are pretty clear. With chase, always kept them under average. With Moto, over average in 3/4 games

You're assuming he was as good in Sept as he was in November. Teller himself admitted he wasn't. It's not as though he wasn't getting any snaps.

You are correct that coaches aren't infallible, but in this case I'm inclined to think the coach made the right call despite what the peanut gallery thought.

Because Miller can't throw the ball and will be ineffective as a real weapon.

My biggest gripe with Motuapuaka was that even in situations where he attacked the bubble correctly, way too often he would meet the runner then get carried 3-4 yards after contact. I want to see him be more physical and really drive people to the ground.

depending on where they set up, it could spread to the soccer practice fields if they reach capacity. Not sure how one would evaluate capacity for a concert in a parking lot...

I am excited for it. I like country music so that helps. Brad is a great guy and will make it a good time. His music definitely has a twang to it. Eric Paslay is another country singer who is pretty new to the scene. He has 1 or 2 songs out now.

I am bummed it is in the Cassel lot and not a bigger area.
