No, you're spot on.
Not sure which comment that talks about the apparent lack of water fountains to reply to, so this is a blanket reply...
There are water fountains outside each bathroom. They are on the wall, for obvious reasons, so it might be hard to see them with all the people walking around, but they are there. I promise!
If they were bankrolling our entire Athletic Dept with their billions of net worth, essentially allowing us to build and overhaul whatever the hell we want to remain at the cutting edge regardless of what our peers do, then they could dress us up as peacocks with full plumes coming out of the helmet, I wouldn't care.

Well, if Whit is a Master of Puppets, I'm sure he could pull some strings...
Self replay but Ty got a very special shirt today from Coach Beamer: https://twitter.com/BMSupdates/status/631123209732141056
You mean those long sinks people pee in? That water tastes gross.
Would the logistics even work out for them to play at Lane Stadium? I remember the Concert for Virginia Tech had a time lapse video of the setup/breakdown and it took a couple of days.
I never said anything about a full concert...
Seriously, one day out of the way to open MNF on ESPN for an intro using your own song that a school who is hosting the defending champs has essentially adopted as their own unofficial fight song?
I'm just sayin....
Me, too, but at a certain point, it gets ridiculous.

They mentioned Ohio State's glow in the dark shoes as well. Those sponsors want some publicity for their products.

I enjoyed that article. A nice, albeit brief, showcase of Blacksburg with some good natured ribbing
If Nike was willing to give us what they give Oregon, I'd let them go absolutely crazy with our uniforms as well
Sounds like a reference to the bucket step. The OL did get better as the year progressed when it comes to angle of first steps on run blocking. I think the way an aggressive Teller was able to come in and manhandle people really helped facilitate the change. Playing faster and taking a more aggressive initial step will make the running game look more downhill. Ironically, I thought that was the weakest part of Searels' philosophy before he came here, especially coming a few years after one of the worst OL coaches from a technique standpoint that I have seen at the D1 level. I hope to see it from the start this year.
I was fortunate to have seen DeAngelo play in HS, and thought to myself, "There's an NFL guy, right there". That was one of the pleasures I got watching HS games in Tidewater. You just knew some of these guys would be on TV on Sunday. And yeah, he probably could have made it as a RB, too.
DeAngelo endeared himself to me when he committed to VT very early and never wavered. I really hate the criticism he has gotten from VT fans. He is a Hokie, through and through, and I know he has tried to help VT behind the scenes in ways I cannot say. I CAN say that he has a huge heart, and does a lot for his community.
I have a feeling this broadcast is going to be awesome, and I truly hope that anyone that harbors ill feelings toward DeAngelo tunes in, and maybe gets a better picture of him.
We're laughing at them, not with them.
I don't know that this is necessarily all that positive though. Glow in the dark uniforms seem like a giant gimmick to me. It's see it as an issue with them that the most notable thing they can point to is their thousands of uniform combinations.
I still shudder at the Raiders Overalls pick, especially since I am a Raiders fan...
I will say this, it makes us keep talking about the Ducks so they are doing something right...
No joke, especially with their waning popularity and relevance in today's hard rock/metal scene. They fall into the "classic" subdivision of their genre. They should jump at the chance to be on a national stage like that.
UVA hasn't even finished in the top 35 in F/+ in the past decade, last year was the first year they finished inside the top 40, and they typically lose 7-8 games a year. UVA's program overall has been way, way worse than Miami's. They aren't even worth mentioning.
Dude I would give you my firstborn and entire net worth if you made this happen Whit, DO IT!
Oh I know.
And, to be honest, I'm a little surprised we're going with Brad Paisley over Darius Rucker.
Darius is a USCe guy but him and Beamer are friends, plus he doesn't have the WVU connection.
"the SEC bias is strong with this one."
I work with touring bands all the time and the turnaround of them coming to Lane would be easy. They wouldn't have their full production but wouldn't need it. They don't necessarily need the exposure but it would be a boost for them. If the money was right they could use this is as a fly in date, have back line gear brought in...(wouldn't want the university to do it but an outside source contracted) then they could perform and go on to Canada.

^This. To play just 1 song would be an outrageous waste of money. The amount of time needed for setup, sound checks/rehearsal, and tear down are brutal. Even if they keep it simple with no special lighting, a small mobile stage that they can wheel back into the service tunnel between SEZ and West Stands, they can't just go out there and run through it cold. If something like this were to actually happen, everyone would know before the game started because the stadium audio team would have to run them through the speaker system to determine the appropriate levels. Everyone would hear it and the surprise element would be ruined.
