Pass rushers. They've got tree trucks in the middle that are decent against the run (so long as they only play LSU every game - Elliott dropped something like 250 yards and 3 TDs on them), but they're not outstanding in any facet of pass defense, front to back. Additionally, Saban and Smart have zero answers for spread looks, seeing as they've been ripped to shreds the past couple years just about every time they've faced one.
And of course this is mostly splitting hairs - they're obviously going to be a very good defense. I just don't buy the #1 ranking on D-line run stopping talent and name recognition alone.
he questions their pass rush, but agree with you he never insinuated they were not going to be good.
In all of my years of racing I've never used a back pedal. Only the gas and clutch are needed. Brakes are optional. Ask Dillon, he forgot where the brakes are at Watkins Glen.
I mean, just for starters, put a metal parabolic roof over the East stands. That alone would make the noise on the field absolutely deafening during games.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the fact that Lane gets ridiculously loud without acoustics playing a part, but at that same time, I hate thinking we're leaving any potential edge or advantage on the table without seriously looking into it.
Well TIL
With the caliber recruiting they have done I thought they and Miami were on the same level. Besides recruiting I dont follow to much of UVa
Lars gotta get paid
I would like a million dollar suite to live in at any point in life
Not if you're submitting your preseason rankings. /s
I think the live remote thing is the right idea for this. Too much logistication involved in a quickie appearance to make it work smoothly.
just got mad chills envisioning that being Enter Sandman instead in front of a hostile Lane crowd
I find it kind of funny how people are arguing over how it could/would not work when it's already pretty clear that it isn't happening for whatever reason.
What did you say, boy??

And for the love of all that is Holy, do a sound fade and not an instant stop. It sounds bad when the music all of a sudden disappears.
Is that Pitbull?
There's a reason they don't fire off Skipper in the stadium....
If you haven't watched this video, its well worth a view.
I have always hated that they shut the song off as soon as the team steps on the field. And I have never understood why either. I think it would be MUCH better if they shut it off right before the singing starts.
If there is one person who could successfully recruit that player, especially given the number of deflections, sacks, and turnovers it forced- it's Bud Foster.
CenturyLink Field (stoopid name) was in fact designed to trap noise and there are several reasons why it is so effective:
1) it was built on a small site, so the stadium is closer and more vertical than most. Remember high vertical walls are best, so really big stadiums that are more spread out are going to be fairly quiet.
2) the half domes cover the entire span of the stadium sides respectively which keeps the noise from escaping.

3) The material used is 100% metal and some concrete. great for noise. Other stadiums are built with textile materials that absorb sound. that's a no no.
4) by happy accident, and fully unintentional the parabolic shape of the half domes was actually measured and found to redirect crowd noise directly onto the field. The architects intention was solely to hold noise in and got a very serendipitous side effect.
The conversion of Lane into something like this would be a wonderful design exercise that I would love to be paid to do, but again I do really enjoy the fact that we are THAT loud without any type of cover at all.
I HATE the Friday night deal. Thursday nights were always big nights to get recruits on campus but with Friday games, the recruits will be at their own games. It takes away a big visit event for us.
Makes sense, he isn't paid to go backwards!
I think we send a crew up to Michigan to bring the one that was terrorizing their campus down here. I'm all for expanding our recruiting base, and it sounds like that turkey has a LPD mentality.
And no, Metalica probably wouldn't do it out of the kindness of their heart I would imagine.
Come on. We all know that Lars is all about free music.
If they cannot bring back the live turkey on the sidelines, then they should at least consider the old school gobbler logo and the old T in the V logo being brought back
Naw, he'd be a double agent and be getting paid the big bucks to go fishing. Of course, even with that he'd still be a better coach than they've had for a while...so, well, I guess you're right.
Nevermind.

Where are they going to put this? There's not much free space left in that campus, if I recall. The football stadium already isn't exactly walking distance from campus.
