Big Tim Settle had a nice rep, and there was some buzz about him yesterday. Gaines had a nice rep in drills. He looked very quick.

As for the question about Edmunds being the biggest backer, I believe Jake Houseright was similarly sized (6'4, 245-ish.) He was a great athlete and Bud was rotating him in with Hawkes and Smith during that 99 run, then he wrecked his knee. Still very good, but he could have been a great one. Phenomenal athlete. Lots of folks keep saying Edmunds will eventually be at end. When you watch him on tape, it is hard to fathom. He has great linebacker instincts (just like Trey did) and despite being tall, he does a great job of getting low to take on blocks and is a very fluid tackler. With the way Bud uses Deon Clarke on the edge so much, I could see Edmunds staying at backer and being used in a similar fashion... but he won't be out of place as a backer in the base alignment unless he adds a ton of weight and loses some bend and quickness.

Fisher was recruited as a DB, too. He was a safety (though he did play around the LOS a lot in HS and at FUMA). Got shifted around though, primarily due to his size, IIRC. Not sure why he hasn't been able to crack the depth chart yet, but it seems to me that his skills leave him in between a lot of positions. Super athletic, may not fit in the scheme?

Kendal Fuller is a DB. I probably should have said Dline or LB. honesty idc just sucks we get a good top recruit and it doesn't work out.

Two things that I'm a little mortified that I haven't seen mentioned:
1) Souvlaki is still my hands down favorite drunk munchies food. It's cheap, quick, & one of the few originals left downtown.
2) if you're there all weekend hit the New River. Rent a tube, or bring your own, or just go swimming.

Yes. That works for me. Thank you. I emailed you my info.

Different times, different outcomes. Imoh's suspension was before the 2007 standards of conduct that Weaver and Beamer put in place. They were probably trying to send a really strong message back then, because disciplinary and legal problems were more frequent. VT was starting to get a bad rep, so the hammer would come down harder. I can see, in terms of program precedent, where the two might rightfully be connected, but we're in different times and it sounds like there are a lot of mitigating circumstances in Shai's case.

A returning QB and depth behind him that all have been in the system on SL for 2 years.
Stability and talent with a good coach on the OL. We actually are putting guys in positions and
trying to let them develop chemistry.
Very good tight end group and WR talent but need a little help in the reserve area
Very solid at RB and maybe excellent if Tre and Mac take the next step.
Defense the DL deep and talented across could be our best ever . If Dooley and Mihota
take the next step look out , Got Tim , Ricky and Steve outside the 2 deep , Wow .
Secondary , Kendall , Brandon and Chuck are as good of a 3 we have ever had . We need
to get the rover ironed out and if we do this is and elite CFB secondary. LB we are fine at OLB
assuming that RVD stays healthy and plays up .Middle is the 1 question but feel we will be at least
adequate there. Could be better than everyone thinks Moto and getting Sean back is good insurance.
Players Like Stroman and Knowles could be big positives with there abilities and think Stroman
will be dynamic on defense in the nickel after he gets some games under his belt.
We have been in a flux for like 4-7 years very little stability from year to year . Players like JC ,Hopkins, Maddy
Maclaughlin having to be thrown as freshman to cover deficiencies well before they were ready and because we had holes. Ford and Phillips last year . This is by far the best we have been coming in for a while. We really
are not needing any newcomers to come in and fill a hole . So we should feel pretty good about our chances.

Honestly if they're only providing the two deep, I'd be shocked to see Settle break into that this year. Williams and Baron have given solid minutes throughout their careers and behind them you even have Ricky Walker who saw time and has potential.
