Likely because it's looking increasingly like Shavar Manuel is gonna go to the SEC.

Just a theory, but I'm pretty sure FSU's strategy is not to recruit until a player has almost made up their mind and then right at the last second they make a phone call and say "Oh btw, we see you are pretty popular and we have room for a star like you here, so have a scholarship and give us a call"
I went to a neighboring high school and a buddy follows him on Instagram:

FSU has offered.

To put it kindly, Laird won't be playing unless things go really, really, really badly.
FWIW, the average size of the top 12 vote getters for All-SEC LB last year was 6'2 1/3" and 239lbs. That includes middle and outside linebacker positions and all 12 were JRs and SRs. Only 1 was as tall and weighed more than Edmunds.
I'd say at 6' 5" 236 as a r-Fr outside LB, Edmunds is already top-end SEC OLB size right now...and then some.
Glad it's a joke. Ya never know with some of these people...
Real Name: Richie Carter

That's a typo. He's still at DT.
That would be quite the wild Turkey...

# | Coaches Address the Media After Virginia Tech's First Practice of the 2015 Season I'm hoping the offense creates some space on the scoreboard 3 or 4 times to allow the OL and DL starters to take 100 or more fewer snaps.
Sarcasm, it'll get after ya.
Well that's just not true
It's unfortunate that VT has never been able to play that card given that no top 100 guys at other schools end up on the short end of the stick...
We have a freshman QB?
Sending email in about 3 minutes.
If grades are a problem , hope he will concentrate on academics and square things. Would hate to lose a promising player to someone like unc.
What is it about Hokies names that fosters bad puns?
Really wish I knew. Just repeated what I read. I suspect there is something here, but we don't know. As usual. You could read it as he had to go and really bone up for a big test, and that would make me think that things are dire enough that they could affect his participation in the fall, but that just shows that I can conjure up hyperbolic conjecture as well as anyone.
Agreed, he is always intense, but man he could light a fire in anyone.

Really like where we are right now. Great to see everyone confident about personnel and attitudes this year. Hopefully it all comes together and this could be special.
I was trying to make a joke about a certain true freshman making an impact at QB.
'Preciate the info though.
Oddly enough, we're as humble about the stadium and TBDBITL as we are about our football team. There was a lot of concern the remodel would ruin it but thy did a good job of modernizing it while keeping the original character.

Were I a player I'd be stoked to practice my hardest. From that site over there, 11W, here is how at least one and probably many more OSU fans feels. Take it up the gazoo like good little boys and girls. Yeah, they have a right to feel confident, but I'd want a shot at them:
Any team can lose any game. We Buckeye fans know. Upsets happen every week. Of course VTech has a chance to win. Good luck to you and your Hokies. I DO think the Hokies will need it this time... Beating Urban Meyer twice in a row is very difficult and I don't think the hype of the Bucks being #1 is hype at all. I have been a Buckeye fan for all of my 42 years and this Buckeye squad is the best I have seen yet. On top of that, the nation's best team barely squeaked into the playoffs last season. Meyer won't let that happen again. Expect a blowout, if the Bucks can manage the game. It won't surprise me to see the Bucks beat teams by 50 points weekly, if that is a possibility. Teams like Baylor and Oregon have been getting bonus points for wins like that and I don't see Meyer taking his foot off of the gas to save opponent's feelings ever again.
