Trey Edmunds speed and quickness. He was starting to get it at the end of 2013. And that run against Bama gave us a glimpse.
The o-line and backups. When Grimey signed Gallo, I felt like of the Fab Four that stayed he, the two-star of the bunch, was the one who really was awed by the experience. Osterloh's (sp) size has had me intrigued. What's with him? What's with Alston? Can he make himself some playing time? But, who is most likely to take that next step forward?
Linebacking corps: wow! If Motuapuaka and van Dyke play that first game the way Deon Clarke played OSU last year, the Bucks will have an unexpected long night - and I'm thinking Meyer is going to want to test them early. Also, is McKinnon really 275? Can he run like the wind still? Will he finally be able to figure out things the way Foster wants. He could be a beast!
Special teams: will Beamer seek to put the fear of god into opposing teams? Who's the man who can get to the ball? BTW, is it legal to jump over the line in college - if so, bring Cam in for a seminar.

Im excited about the fact that he has grown about 3 inches since joining tech. I hope he makes the grade and get bigger. its simply a matter of time before he makes the 2-deep as a hybrid OLB/safety.

Seeing how they have been ever since we've been in the ACC, that's not a very promising comparison.
Yup there be a few of us Manassholes here on TKP. Ryan Williams was a Stonewall guy, too, as well as a few others.
Exciting freshmen in the Dbackfield. Mook-Johnson-Alexander-Edmunds might be the starting 4 in 2017.
Brewer. Loeffler said he was a bit slow going through his progressions yesterday, but the same thing happened during the spring. He thinks today Brewer will be a bit quicker as he gets into the flow and rhythm of the offense.

It's comparable to 1999 when Moore-Engleberger were backed up Ron Cook and Chris Cyrus. That lack of depth was helped out with an offense that scored 41ppg. Lots of blowout snaps to preserve the two starters.
Dadi and Ekanem played a ton of snaps last year and didn't seem to wear down. But worth watching this year. Need Mihota and Dooley to provide quality snaps. Play the 3-man front more might help to.

But the DE situation may drive that decision. If Ekanem goes pro after this year, we have some serious issues.
Really to bad Hill got hurt, he needed some reps this year to be in position next year to start.

French tweeted out something that may have been the truest thing he's ever said: That 2010 tea was an elite defensive line away from being a national title contender. If the offensive talent from that team was paired with this coaching staff and this defense, the Coastal wouldn't even be a competition.

# | Coaches Address the Media After Virginia Tech's First Practice of the 2015 Season Hope Bud wasn't giving us fluff when he said the thing about Facyson being as healthy as he was two years ago. Bud doesn't seem like a very fluffy guy tho.
I may be crazy, but it seems this may be one of the more talented defensive teams we have ever had. I just went back and looked at some of the '10 ACC championship game which was the last year we had a really good season and won the title. This defense should be a whole different league from that one. The '10 team had some nice players like Exum and Hosley, and maybe Graves and Hopkins. But Drager was a converted TE who started, Kyle was a freshman, Jack Tyler was a walk-on. Lyndell GIbson, Winslow, Morgan, Whitley were never great players. STeven Friday was a poor man's Dadi. I guess my point is if the offense can come around, and there is plenty of talent on that side of the ball as well, we arent that far away from being a championship team.
The young talent on this squad that may not even play is very impressive.
