if they feel Lawson has pro-potential and he shows that he could be the guy for next year I think he should be playing this year. Would be nice to blow out a few teams so we could get backups some reps for once.
VT+Shai-Reavis-Keihn=a little less drama once the pads are put on and practice starts.
so much talent! cant we line up a QB at H-back and WR and QB and TE and......
![]()
This is Tech, we make TE's into QB's and QB's in TE, RB, WR, DB, SS...
So yes, we can do it all!
Durkin is only 221#'s? I thought his tank-like structure was much larger. I am all for kids red-shirting and getting some time in a college weightroom and filmroom. This Job is Brewers to keep away from Motley and we should only burn Lawsons redshirt if all 3 ahead of him are injured imho. The year of learning can only help Lawson realize his full potential, just imagine what would have happened if T-Mobile had been allowed to redshirt his freshman year, he would have taken us to great heights with the talent on that 2011 team...
So, I'll be an outlier here.
I'm not a fan of name changes for corporate sponsors, in any level of sports. To me, I think the name change to stadiums and the like cheapen the venues. I get it, of course, that money and donation is needed, but I think that they're already going to have their name plastered on all the programs, on walls, and probably mentioned during broadcasts.
I'm curious how people would feel if they made it Worsham-Carillion field at Lane Stadium.
I think, to me, it just resonates a purchased honor, not an earned one.
Shai+Reavis+Keihn=A Lot of Drama on the team right now.
Nobody has said you won't be ready. NOBODY. If you aren't ready, you have no one to blame but Urban.
We expect you to be ready, but not with 20k in our stadium.
Well, we went 6-6 outside of Ohio...
But also did this.

didn't you guys go 7-6 last year?
And yet, somehow didn't we manage to beat you last year?
I missed that this is an 11W post. one isn't a handful, but still. you guys keep thinking that we won't be ready.
I have yet to read a comment that says 15-20K. (of course, I do work so I can't read every comment)If there was, the 11W faithful would sort that poster out. it doesn't matter, every College thinks their stadium is the toughest. didn't you guys go 7-6 last year?
I don't see a down side to this.
Universities have corporate relationships that pay for research and support academic programs. This is our modern world. If we can get corporate support for athletics as well, that's truly phenomenal.
It's part of being a leading university these days.
I question that statement.
All I can say is, we don't know what happened.
Good Luck CJ! Go Hokies indeed!
Sure is, things haven't changed a whole lot either
I guess Under Armour's hope is that if it's unattractive enough, nobody will want to touch you...
Hence, "ungrabbable".
BHSN 621. Good to see you both!
Is AGR the agricultural fraternity? I recall partying there once or twice. Those country boys could get after it!
I still don't know the whole story. What I do know is that he was a damn good football player and a fan favorite....and a damn good dancer. I also know that he was booted out by VT students - the same as you and I. They may be the annoying over achiever types...but still students like you and I were. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are not total idiots and followed the rules. It sucks he got expelled but once again - it was by fellow students of the best university in the world. Maybe I am too glass half full but I think those VT students on the court are good people who want the best for their university. Maybe the process needs to change but I can't assume their was foul play involved. In my opinion...
Now Keihn....he needs to go and I never need to hear his name again....I am sure he is a fine person but to MD? Ughhh ....that is as bad as going to uva in my book.....
Whatevs...they can bring as many as they like. It doesn't take numbers in the stands.
I present exhibit A.

But seriously, I doubt they have over 12k in there or so....

Ahem...

I make exceptions to my intenet protocol for TKP, as any honorable man would.
To be fair, it's private for a reason. They hold hearings way more than we know. (some in here didn't even know it existed...) And Reavis owes us nothing. Honestly, it's refreshing and assuring knowing that we don't provide preferential treatment to our student athletes.
I also don't like the whole secret student conduct meeting stuff. As a student I'd like to know what actions apparently can result in expulsion.
Well, as a student, you should know this. Ignorance of it isn't an excuse. Evidently, what occurred was deemed to be against policy. Again, we are owed nothing nor an explanation. But as a student, you know that whatever he was accused of could result in such decisions.

In a sense, I agree, but there really isn't much of a separation of "purchased" and "earned" honors. Naming rights to campus structures and spaces cost serious money, so while the names of dorms, academic buildings, etc. have rightfully gone to important people in University history, many (all?) have been named because of big-time cash donations, as well.
