Ok...missed this before my edit.

I'm a big fan of the coaches, and definitely tend to defend them.
But this...again "if true" is a boneheaded thing to happen.
Peace.

Graduated and went somewhere else for grad school. Not sure if he's still playing football.

Whaaaa????

Hookers and blow? I said something close to that?

I haven't seen a reach like that since this guy...

Edit...
This is the original post:

The John Allen thing is really interesting actually. I've talked with one of his old coaches and VT blew it and then some with his recruitment. When VT was first introduced to him, John was "too small" and so they wouldn't offer until they saw how much he grew. This apparently pissed him off and he felt spurned the rest of his recruitment. Prior to that, he had been very interested.

No coke, no blow..WTF are you talking about?
Is there one thing about this that, as I said "if true", that you see as a good move recruiting-wise. Keep in mind Allen is no Schmuck.

I went extreme because of the wording you used and sometimes I feel certain social network fans think coaches should do everything and anything to get a kid to VT. A kid or coach saying he recruit was "slighted" is BS to me. Like the one parent who said a coach didn't say hi.

I'm pretty much scared of them sending their receivers deep, clearing everything out, with our DBs in man, with back to the LOS...
then flaring something to Braxton in the flat with a LB sprinting to catch up, totally susceptible and crushed by a "one cut and go".

It's like a QB tuck and run with two running QBs. I don't like that one bit. The only defense I can come up with is to get somebody up close and personal, busting across the line at the snap to narrow the space Braxton has to work with at all times.

But I didn't take the "coach mcguirk" name because I have confidence in my prescience and overall coaching genius.

And a leg to you too, Fud. That tweet isn't made up, isn't over hyped, is incapable of being taken out of context. Those folks just have to live with that tweet until that individ is gone, gone, gone. And even then, we'll keep it in the archives and trot it out as we see fit. We are entitled to use their own words against them, they can buy all the ointment and soft toilet paper they see fit to deal with it.

After working there I have seen every way of making it to the bottom of those stairs imaginable. That was never one of them though, he didn't use nearly enough face.

BS,

If a guy feels slighted, that is a recruiting fail

So if VT coaches don't offer the kids Call Girls and blow and that's what he wanted is that a recruiting fail? You can't make every kid happy never can never will. If a coach comes into Tech and starts telling recruits he can make them happy no matter what I don't want him as coach.

Monday will obviously be all tailgating. You'll see it, just about every inch of the campus parking lots become tailgate lots.

As you've probably heard, classes are cancelled so the students will be out in force as well (not that many would have been in class if the classes aren't cancelled...)

There's plenty of bar suggestions in the thread already as I'm sure you've seen, ranging from the quieter Cellar that serves excellent food and has a great beer suggestion to the frequently packed and very Greek centric TOTS.

Food wise:

Breakfast: Try and make it to Carol Lee's, Gillies or Famous Anthony's.

Lunch: Personal favorite is Leftys but if you're going to be in the true downtown section you'll find pretty good bar food most places. The Cellar is my favorite bar - get a pita pizza and have a good beer in a more laid back environment. Cabo Fish Taco is also excellent.

The rest of the bars will likely be quite crowded and on a gameday/game weekend like this may not be overly distinguishable. I'm a PKs/Champs/Sharkeys guy myself but if I plan on making it to just about every bar while I'm down there.

You'll have fun. Very different feel than Columbus (which I very much enjoyed), its a quintessential small college town.

Hate losing this kid. Local (BBurgh product with a good leg. Best of luck where ever he lands.
