# | French on the Bench on ESPN Blacksburg: Impact of Ohio State WR Suspensions Was gonna make a forum post but don't have enough legs (great forum rule btw), but any suggestions for a first time Buckeye in Blacksburg? I have heard many positive things about your gameday atmosphere so I decided to make this game my annual CFB pilgrimage. Stumbled upon a hotel in Blacksburg somehow (about 5 min drive from Lane) and will be spending Sunday and Monday. We're in our mid-late 20's so we still like to toss a few (dozen) brews back, but I much prefer the tailgate scene over bars. Thanks for any tips!
P.S. I checked TKP last year after your win to see how your experience in Columbus was. Vast majority was positive which I was glad to hear. I didn't run into any unruly VT fans at the game and hope to return the favor this year in Blacksburg. Go Bucks
I disagree. If they are leaning on the RB, that means he is getting yards and converting. That is bad. Against OSU, we have to make their QB beat us in the air. Same goal as last year, it will just be a slightly different approach.

Edit: That was supposed to be in reply to kff17.
Not worried at all about this. Slye and Santamaria are going to be the main guys.
I think he means Kyle Fuller against GT.
Haha, when was this? I don't remember this one, but I wouldn't put it past Bud.
This isn't first-hand info, but a rumor of a metallic orange helmet has been floated....
Does getting 1 or 2 five star kids really make much difference in terms of influencing other in state kids? While on the surface it seems logical, I've seen little to no evidence to support this notion.
VT probably only wants about 6 of the top 10 kids and generally gets about 3. Would getting the big fish help in getting the other 2 (plus others)? Has it helped UVA?
Brandon Facyson is a pretty damn good player. Hope he recovers fully this year. Big rangy DB's dont grow on trees.
So long as RVD's shoulders hold up, I think he's gonna have a sneaky good year. DiNardo was solid, but he definitely didn't have RVD's athleticism.
Bucks were on him early during his sophomore summer. He seems to be trending down a tad lately. I guess he hasn't kept himself in the best of shape and lost some of his explosiveness. More of a project based on his frame right now than anything else.
Ummm except for the guy is really, really, really good at football. The #1 goal is to take him out of the gameplan as early as possible. If OSU is still riding Elliott into the 4th quarter, we may be in trouble.
Correct but I doubt Virginia Tech saw him for the very first time during his senior year. Plus like I said, those words came straight from the mouth of the guy who coached him early on. He's a coach at a local high school and is actually the same reason VT was turned on to a commit named Clay Dean.
You're expecting good arguments from ESPN?
Maybe "blew it" was the wrong way to put it. More so saying in hindsight it sucks because they had no way of knowing like you mentioned. One way or another, however they put it to him rubbed him the wrong way.
I heard he also made Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs
Thanks again for your thoughtful contribution.
I think we ride Elliot a bit more than planned unless Dunn and or Ball step up.
The more y'all rely on Elliot, the more likely VT is to win.
I can't get over the first thought I had when I started reading your post. Unfortunately, I'm not computer literate enough to come up with a gif of Bud actually playing Dadi. Ahh, the frustration a lack of education brings.
The fact that he is a consensus All-American makes it more likely that he is overrated. (Stated the other way around, if no one thought he was any good, he wouldn't be overrated.)
Nothing is out of the question for Bud Foster. We're talking about a guy who blitzed a corner through the A gap. I mean, c'mon.
GoKart, you in trouble now, brah.
Wise was the #2 kicker behind Slye, but we were never going to have 3 scholarship kickers. He got a pretty sweet deal where he'll be on scholarship and is all but assured the starting kicker spot for the next 4 years. Not a bad gig at all.

I completely agree. The only thing I think of when Motuapuaka brought up is the spring game when he got straight plowed over by Trey Edmunds. Scary to think what that grown ass man of a RB for anOSU could do.

I know that but I'm just not quite football-smart enough to know if certain techniques are smart or just stupid for some situations. So basically I'm asking French to say either "yes RealDiehl this is quite possible and could be effective" or "RealDiehl you're an idiot stop asking football questions" and I would be okay with either, really
