Totally agree. Motu is the biggest question mark to me.
We will have a good idea of his progression come 9/7. I see OSU pounding the rock with Elliott all night and thus putting a ton of pressure on the shoulders of the young LB.
I don't remember an incomplete in the endzone in that game.
I remember they gave the trophy to the losing team, which I still think was odd.

It's hard to say no to Bama.
And to this I wonder how many guys miss there chance at the NFL because they go somewhere where they end up buried on the depth chart as opposed to going to another school where they would probably be starting. How many guys miss the NFL due to that I wonder? Or at least how many end up signing as an UFA as opposed to being drafted.
Not as often these days. NFL scouts/coaches do their due diligence. I don't think he's going to get overlooked just because he spends an extra year or two riding the bench. Don't forget, he's just a freshman. He has 4-5 years to prove his worth.
Yea I agree here. Similarly, if we have 15 scholarships to give, we don't give out 20 offers and then when 18 kids except choose which 3 scholarships to revoke.
Well.....you may score that many, but that would involve defense and special teams scores.

That's all that really needs to be said. VT has an ELITE defense and combine that with Bud Foster stealing Tom Herman's cookies and breaking in 4 new starters on the O-line, you get the beating we took last year. OSU fans who are expecting to score 40+ points will be in for an unwelcome surprise. Excuses out the window. The players and coaches know they were out manned and outcoached last year. Simple as that.
Yeah, against Maryland and Indiana I think.

After reading through my own clumsily worded response, I noticed another glaring parallel. In Season 1, the Dora Lange case was closed after the boys took out those meth heads and shot up the foilage to make it look like a huge firefight had gone down. Before that we had spent a significant amount of screentime on interviews only to establish that the case that had been "closed" wasn't even close to being figured out. Even though as an audience we thought maybe they had found the guys.
In a flip of the script, we found out here at the midway point of the season that the Caspere case had been closed after the shootout, while the audience already had a pretty good idea that we were no where close to actually solving the case.
Kind of an interesting experiment...which structure works best? The general consensus seems to be the S1 was better. But my wife and I rewatched the first season over the weekend and there are some glaring holes. The police work was just not very good, for example. And as much as I liked season 1..."Green eared spaghetti monster....green paint...house repainted green..." was a stretch of storytelling that I feel like gets overlooked big time.

# | "Ohio State players ready for rematch with Virginia Tech" By Mark Berman OSU absolutely improved tremendously as the year went on. It really was impressive - it's not easy to beat a top 15 team and then two top 3 teams, even with bye weeks in between.
However, that's not what Decker said. If he said something like "We were inexperienced last year, but we've improved a lot since then and I'm confident we can win," I'd have no issue with it. However, when reading Decker's comments out of context, it seems as though he implies that we used a 'gimmicky' defense to catch them off-guard.
"But I think if our preparation was on the same level, we'll beat them every time."
This is the comment that bothers me. It's kind of like telling your boss "The quality of my work is bad because you're not challenging me enough."

Interesting situation with this kid. No doubt he is an elite talent. Off the field is a whole different ballgame. Big time change of scenery might be just what he needs.

Chuck was solid by the end of the season.
I think these are the same thing. I would guess it's almost impossible to want to block when you're rehabbing a shoulder.
