I personally think that is a decoy. I hope I'm right. I think he announced VT as his favorite a while back then realized that may have taken away from the mystery of his decision. So then decided to send some UMD signals.

I don't know how I have missed it, and it is worth noting that nobody else has reported it. Der'Woun Greene was getting reps at rover against Ohio State last season. I don't even recall seeing Greene's name in print last spring, so he escaped my consciousness. Greene looked pretty solid assignment-wise around the line of scrimmage for about five repetitions during a 3rd quarter series. Jarrett came back into the game, and on his first play (a 3rd and 21) he intercepted Barrett. Barrett saw Fuller playing outside leverage and thought he could hit the WR breaking on an inside release. He never saw Jarrett coming from the middle of the field.
And now back to UMD
Our defense is way better than Maryland's, though. And our scheme is certainly different. Even though transferring to someplace like Maryland doesn't guarantee he gets a shot at the NFL, I have a hard time imagining how it could hurt his chances. I wish the kid well.

According to a couple professors I had Hellbenders won on the paper ballot too. Specifically, two faculty members were against it and apparently mattered more than the majority.
Edit: One faculty member even said that them pulling the online vote was a complete coverup. They came up with a paper ballot to let everyone believe their votes would matter. In reality, the decision was already made.
