@cfieldhokie, are you HIGH?! You don't just accuse someone of trolling, but since that's what you labeled me I"ll troll YOU. Your favorite hokie is Kam Chancellor? How original, you're in the same category as 60% of everybody else here. Nice major, what do you bench? I'll keep it straight. If you have a problem lets meet up. Otherwise leave me alone you bumbling CHOTCH.

Same thing will happen this year as last year. We beat anOSU, then rise up to just below them in the poll.

*except this year we won't lose the next two.

Welcome, I believe we had a nice back and forth over on 11W awhile back. I think all your points are solid and make a lot of sense. The one thing that I wonder is how fast those back-ups can get up to speed since they are going to be splitting reps. If all the guys we are talking about were injured then obviously the back-ups would get all the 1st team reps, but in this situation its nowhere near that simple. Meyer still has to give all the suspended guys reps since they will be needed to win a B1G championship and possibly more (which is more important to him than beating VT). How much time is Meyer going to dedicate to guys that aren't going to be starting (or at least will see less playing time) after the first game? I think that's a big part of this too of which no one is talking about.

I was standing next to Cornell Brown in Owens in 1993 the Sunday after a home football game. He handed the cashier a special swipe card and she gave him $200 in cash back. He left and I asked her what that was. She said they all have a card to pay for meals for game weekends, but everywhere they go is catered so they don't need to spend any money off that card. They just come in and cash them out. Needed to keep more cash on hand that day to pay for it. Maybe he was hosting a recruit or something.

And finally the team suffers because it undermines the ideology of being a family that is often portrayed.

It doesn't really undermine the family aspect. Every Family has problems. Whether it is blood kin or athletic family. Show me a "family" that has no problems, and I will show you a family that is great at hiding problems.

Mike, that's not surprising...

WTF did that come from?

Matt Ryan, current QB of the Atlanta Falcons, once threw 2 touchdowns in the final minute of the game to come from behind and beat VT during a torrential downpour. Partially because VT's coaches decided to try to run out the clock instead of extending our lead. I was there. It was cold and wet and heartbreaking, so we don't like to talk about it.
