I think about that 2012 Sugar Bowl lose to Michagin. We dominated, but had a few really bad plays, and an incomplete in the endzone that a year later would have been ruled good. In the end, all we have is an L for that one no matter how you look at it. In this game i'll take a W regardless of how it looks.

To me, players being injured is a reasonable excuse. People can say "no excuses" all they like, but there is a reason not everyone is a starter.

But if guys are out due to suspension from their own actions...well that to me is not an excuse.

I don't know if this means we will win or not. I personally have had this strange good feeling about this game all offseason. But if we win, or we lose, it won't be because of these guys one way or the other. It will be because of the good guys lining up for us.

By morning, nobody will give a shit about the suspensions. When we win, we'll have knocked off the National Champs and given them their only 2 losses over the previous 12 months. Like last year, the hype train will build under our team, and hopefully this time we won't fuck it up the next week.

Tennessee beat 1 P5 team with a winning record last year - that was 7-win Iowa. That's it. I agree that ya'll are headed in the right direction, but I hardly believe that warrants a top 25 preason ranking.

My favorite comment from this whole thing comes from ESPN:

OSU fan:

kids just need to learn a lesson the hard way sometimes, at least the first game is VT ,which still shouldnt be much of a problem

Response:

That game was not much of a problem last year either
