# | Ohio State's Joey Bosa and Jalin Marshall out for Virginia Tech Opener Losing Bosa significantly hurts that defense. This is a huge loss for them, and arguably a bigger loss than any player on any team would be, save for starting QBs. This guy is on every preseason award watch and is on the short list for Heisman consideration this year. You cannot understate how significant a loss this is for them. This hurts them... badly.
Not having Marshall is also a big loss for their offense. Making their receiving unit thinner will help tilt that phase of the game in our favor. Allows us to focus more on stopping the run, which should help a lot.
But yeah, getting to avoid Bosa? That's huge. Like Logan Thomas and Bucky Hodges spliced their DNA to make the ultimate player who can line up at QB, toss it deep, then literally run over every defender to make the catch for the TD kinds of huge.
A potential overall no. 1 draft pick vs an unproven inexperience sophomore are not quite the same. This is obviously a much bigger hit for us. But #minordetails
Nice to see Tennessee back where it belongs and at least ranked.
Also, not sure about pre-season, but in season, coaches don't fill out the "coaches poll". They will hand their list to an intern and say, "rank so and so #1,2,3.", and then leave the rest to the intern to fill out.
Honestly, it really doesn't matter.

Also former RB Curtis Samuel who they were working as a H-Back in the Spring I believe.
The all-suspended team is getting close to cracking the top-25.

Now- loss of Corey Smith and Dontre Wilson means 3 of the top 4 WRs are out.

VT is already missing part of its full stable for what also appears to be disciplinary reasons.
I don't feel any sympathy for OSU nor would a victory be any more or less tainted than the one last year when they were missing Braxton Miller (and VT was missing a couple of Sr. OL's, it's leading returning RB, etc.).

I would rank teams solely based on fun/inappropriate anagrams that could be made.
