What I remember most about Jeff King was that he pretty much got you at least 9 yards every time he caught the ball. Or at the very least, he was on the good side of the first down line.

That's not right. When were you an RA? I was an RA and HRA and can say that in my time 95 - 99 all drug issues were sent directly to the police. That was a black and white policy in Res Life. University handles no drug cases, only conduct cases. The only way around it is if you don't call the police. If you were to only write a JR about marijuana then it can't be used as evidence, so the person would get off that way, but the police should have been called. Personally I had an unwritten, unspoken see no evil, hear no evil rule of thumb. I wasn't going to go looking for it but if someone was stupid enough to let me see, hear or smell it then I had to act.

That is actually a very bad thing. VERY, allowing a university to decide what is criminal and what is not is what is causing the DOJ to look at several universities and their response to sexual assault. It may seem that letting them decide what is criminal and what is not is good it is a VERY slippery slope. If an officer is involved then it has to have some legal conclusion. Now if PD is never involved that is one thing but to allow PD to pass something off to the admin side is bad.

I'd sure as heck give you a wave back or be the first to wave.
