They got rid of the 3 strike policy so they can consider everything on a case-by-case basis. I'm not 100% sure since when I was an RA, I never actually had to catch anyone smoking marijuana, but I don't know how much of it can be handled without police involved. I suggested it may have been drugs below, but that's only because I know that VTPD has the authority to let the university solely handle some issues and not file criminal charges as well.

I'm just trying to think what would constitute dismissal from the school without getting the cops involved. I know there's a zero tolerance marijuana policy that was in effect when I was in the dorms (2003), but I doubt they would handle drug possession internally without getting the police involved. My wife got a JR for drinking in the dorms and they told her 3rd JR equals expulsion. Maybe they were blowing smoke.

The more I think about it, it sounds like some sort of egregious cheating. I hate to speculate but there can't be too many things that would result in getting kicked out without being considered criminal activity

you can get expelled for that? Dang. I made four or five excursions down there in my time. Accidentally set off an alarm in Pamplin one december after graduation. Me and my friends hightailed it back into the tunnels and then one of the guys started freaking out and demanded to get out at the next grate. Didn't realize that it was dead center of the drillfield in front of williams hall. 5 (?) more grates and it would have been nice and hidden in the bushes of the Ag quad, but blacksburg was so dead any way no one caught us scrambling out into the open.

if reavis is not back I hope we see Brandon slide over to FS and move chuck to rover. Brandon seems like a very intelligent guy that could make the calls and it would take some pressure off of him coming back and giving him a bit more of a cushion than he's used to at CB. Then you have riley who played CB most of last year, stroman (who TG has said will play on sundays) and mook for the CB/nickel spots.

Great write up - this was a great intro to ZB for me.

I liked his enthusiasm. He said 9 or 10 receivers would get in the rotation, then six or seven, then six. And Newsome with a 40-50 yard catch, turns out to be 36. I chuckled.

Some may quibble with the errors, but I love it. I get a sense of a guy working on adrenaline, always seeing the glass half-full, and excited about the chance to prove the staff was right about him. He may cool some from the initial excitement of his first 6 months, but I get the feeling that he wants to, like he said of Knowles, get some things out of himself he doesn't know is in him.

Looks like excellent Hokie material to me.

And due in larger part to the fact that it's literally the same show hour after hour. If they didn't swap anchors out every two hours, you could literally see the same clips for six hours straight.

I wouldn't blame the recent viewership trend on that. It's been that way since at least the early 90s.

Great way to start off Monday. Coach Burden sounds like a genuine guy. I love how he talks about honesty and caring about his guys off the field. That's the mentality I always want at VT. He also sounds like he is a great coach; this stuck out to me when he was talking about Knowles. "We're trying to get some things out of him that I don't think he knows he has in him." <- That's what being a coach is all about.

Its going to be hard to beat Jeff King. His stats weren't incredible but his impact was. They both have at least a chance to surpass is receiving stats.

I think Ford, Phillips, Hodges, Malleck can be the 2 best WR's and TE's in VT history and Edmunds has potential at RB if he can stay healthy maybe not being the best but still being very good, I am also excited about McMillian. And is Rogers the best FB in VT history? If Brewer gets it together we are looking very good!
