All the ECU, white pants, and 12:00 pm jokes aside it was a sad week for the Hokie Nation with the passing of Mr. Weaver. He was very influential on a lot of things we take for granted today the biggest being like Joe mentioned above getting us into the ACC. RIP Jim Weaver and thanks for everything you did for Virginia Tech.
We have way less bottles of piss thrown...
and way less marriages that do not result in name changes...

Rest In Peace Mr. Weaver and a prayer for your loved ones who must miss you so. A great big "Thank You" from Hokie Nation and a hope that where ever you are, may you always have clear skies, a fair wind and a star to guide you.
The best thing Weaver did was putting the athletic program in one of the best financial situations in the country. The indoor facility and Buzz Williams don't happen without Jim Weaver.

If Wyatt and crew open holes all year the way they did for JC the last four games, the JC/Trey/Travon/Sam/Peoples stable will be just fine while our studs rehab.
And just like them, we've waited 16 years....

I appreciate the response. I'm actually an out-of-state season ticket holder and HC member that has considered VT my second home since Loren Johnson threw me his wristband and Al Clark signed my football back in 1997 or so (hence the user name). I'm AD military and had to go elsewhere to finish my BA. Now that I'm a prospective grad student - and I've reclassified to an IT-related field from a more tactical one - I have another chance to get the degree to match my O&M blood. It just so happens that Virginia Tech has the #2 ranked Masters in Information Technology program in the country, behind USC, and I've worked very hard to make sure I have the resume to safely gain admission.
I LOVE the fact that Hokie Stone is an option for the ring, and a VT ring means a lot in my line of work (three-letter intel agency).
It's a beautiful thing to behold. So glad for those ladies crushing the demons of 4 years ago. Hopefully Abby Wambach has a new date to memorize.
Can I hope for a similar "curbstomping" victory by the good guys in Blacksburg on Sept 7?
