Condolences to the Weaver family. He did so much for VT.

I have personally been critical of some of his decisions, and I've poked a bit (OK, a lot) of fun at his expense, but I have always, and will always, respect what Jim Weaver did for Virginia Tech. Thank you, Jim. Rest in peace.

.....Damn.....

I knew his health was bad, but I had absolutely no idea it was that bad. This sucks.

RIP, Jim. You left things better than you found them, especially VT.

May he be remembered for all that he did to further Virginia Tech Athletics. He kept us running in the black. He furthered our athletic facilities with the new football locker room and the Hahn-Hurst Basketball Facility. He led the remodel of Lane Stadium. He handled the concept of the new indoor practice facility. Weaver led us into the ACC. He served us well and his legacy will live on.

RIP Jim

Wow, I knew he retired for health reasons, but that was a quick decline. RIP Weaver.

And even if you do make it disappear, a significant portion will be unhappy
And if you reboot the uniforms to the 1999 'classics', a portion will be unhappy
And if you overhaul the uniforms to something edgy and fresh, a portion will be unhappy
And if you stay the same a significant portion will be unhappy

You can never please everyone.

This is an interesting article from Crimson and Cream Machine (OU's SB Nation blog) suggesting that if the Big XII broke up you could see Oklahoma going to the SEC and the SEC adding VT to fill up a 16 member conference. Tech going to the SEC predictions and rumors isn't news but it's interesting to see OU fans thinking it.

I felt like Germany's keeper was a lot like Tim Howard from the Men's team game last year. She seemed to be yelling at her teammates and being fairly POd most of the time, which is understandable considering how dominating USA was during the first half. That keeper was having to play her ass off and got lucky with a couple terrible shots on goal.
