Soft. Decent hands. Slow feet.
The good news is that it is easier to get stronger and improve footwork than it is to develop soft hands. Bad news is that he has quite a way to go. Practicing against Blackshear won't hurt either.
The problem with that is you leave Tech with only one rival in the conference (an no ECU doesn't count). I like it when we play rivalry games with Miami and now we're playing WVU (for better or for worse) again.

One, two, Buzz is coming for you
Three, four, better hit the floor
Five, six, got backboards to fix
Seven, eight, setting the ACC straight
Nine, ten, another Hokies win
I hope Ford does any and all sports or activities he wants to. He's just a kid and shouldn't be worried about the NFL. You can make a case of it helping and hurting him and personally I just want to see him succeed and do what he wants to. The more I get a chance to see him in maroon and orange the better. Who knows what he will get a chance to do after college, it's best to do what you want when you have the chance.
There is a reason you get your picture on a 15 foot poster in the Indoor Training facility. Eddie was a beast and was a hell of a return man too. I think Ford is a solid WR with huge upside, but I don't think he has Eddie's breakaway speed and chops...yet.
but with that even comes costs. Is it cost/time effective for the volleyball team from BC to fly to Miami for a 1.5 hour meet? Football to me gets a pass on the travel, because it brings in revenue. The other sports should be more regionally based.
That's why I don't have an issue with football becoming it's own thing, and the conferences being based on the non-revenue sports.
Boston and Miami are large cities with large airports, most Big 12 schools are not located near large airports. Your also talking more total travel for more teams, add 1/2 Big 12 teams and travel for every school becomes a trek.

# | Bitter blog - Wednesday reset: Indoor facility graphics and Battle at Bristol tickets They already have the Rector Field House. The new facility will be used by all those sports in the image, but Track and Field will likely just keep to Rector.
If there was to be another spot on there, it should have something with track and field.
definitely missed that. ford has said he wanted to try to play this season though and that it was just too much his freshmen season.
I think he said "why" because you overlooked the /s at the end of the initial comment and took it seriously.
ran a 4.42 at the combine, which translates to a 4.2 something VT 40. He was pretty darn fast.
In do time.....

Because he's our #1 WR and if he has NFL aspirations I just think that should be his focus. I understand our basketball team isn't great and people think he can help, but he is also a guard and that is going to be a very deep position next year. The winter/basketball season is time for him to bulk up and if he's playing basketball he's going to struggle to maintain his weight if anything.

# | If the Big XII dissolves and is absorbed into the remaining Power 4, who do you want? It only really looked that way to deranged posters on WVU message boards who swore they all had #sources.

All kidding aside, I don't know if he's there YET.
Maybe Davis was faster than I remember (was only 13 at the time) plus those grainy youtube vids don't do him justice. The Boykin reference is because the 2 can seemingly catch anything.
I just flat-out don't like vinegar sauce.
*ducks*
If Ford was as fast as Andre Davis, he'd be putting up Sammy Watkins numbers right now. Still though, he's arguably the most well-rounded pure WR Tech has ever recruited.
WRs β they come along a dime by the dozen
They ain't nothing but ten yard lovin'
Hey ol Frank let me light your candle
'Cause DB I'm sure hard to handle now
Yes, I am
Not sure if I quite agree with that, Jarrett Boykin was like 6'4" and had hands bigger than the football and Eddie Royal was a much better deep threat, at least so far..
Oh great, another thread that quickly goes away from football and is just a grand expedition through puns and jokes... great.
For once I thought we would be able to Escape the ford puns
I feel if you put all the best attributes from Andre Davis, Jarrett Boykin, and Eddie Royal together you get Isaiah Ford.

Rewatch the TD catch against ECU. He's got an exceptional knack for finding the football that can't be taught. Speed and route running can still be improved with three years ahead of him.
