This is the same sloppy ball control that cost them at Notre Dame
Too many turnovers. Passes look lazy like against ND. Didn't learn anything from that film study.
Turnovers starting to add up to
That whistle came when she was three steps from shooting but they gave her three steps of continuation
Getting killed in the paint giving them standing still layups.
We cant make layups or free throws.
2/7 on layups
1/4 on free throws
Tie game 19-19 end of 1st.
Hokies 1-4 FT.
First, if I could make a request, can you touch on the +/- of shooting % in future versions. I think thst will lend some vital info to the scoring portion of these.
The men in this next quad, I disagree on Miami being even close to the best in the ACC although may be a bad matchup for us. 7-3 in ACC play, losses to Clemson, FSU, and Cal. Close games over Wake, BC, and Pitt. They have four straight Quad 1 games though so that will separate them one way or another.
Clemson is much tougher than Miami and being on the road, I dont like our chances. Clemson got a big NIL infusion and bought a really good roster. The OT loss to NC State they were missing a key starter. If not for that they are likely undefeated in ACC play. Their only other close ACC games were on the road against Stanford and at home against SMU. Are they beatable? Absolutely but not the way the Hokies have played in the last four.
FSU "should" be a gimme but they have surprised a couple teams.
We should have beat Wake the first time, we better beat them at home.
If we dont fix our shooting issues though none of it matters. Three starters against NC State going 10/39.
Three point shooting as a team in last four
Louisville 16/30 (53%)
GT 8/29 (28%)
Duke 7/26 (27%)
NC State 7/25 (28%)
Louisville was a season outlier. Hokies in ACC play are shooting 32%. Without the Louisville game it drops to 31%.
Unless the players name is Boone!
I have something that seems related to what you guys are describing. I end up with a headache for days that most meds can't touch. However, this year I discovered nurtec.... Which does help me. Have you ever tried it?

I'm just looking forward to a two deep where the backup is truly good enough to compete at the highest level.
Let the man cook...
Yes scout teams still very much exist, without a scout team you can't prepare your starters to practice each week. The issue is that scout team players do not run your offense and defense, they run the opposing teams offense and defense each week that coaches draw up on scout cards, so in most practices the scout team guys only get Indy (individual position) reps and drills and then work off scout cards during skelly (7 on 7) and team periods. As someone who's coached at the D3 through D1 level, this setup is pretty universal once you get out of August training camp and move on to game prep, although when I was at Kentucky State we had an extended period for about 15 minutes after practice on certain days where we'd work with the scout team guys to try and get them a little bit more development, that's also why bowl game practices are so important, it gives you a chance to really try and develop your young scout team players.
I think booing your own team is tacky no matter the situation.
Hokies!
This sounds like a great marketing term from a top-tier recruiter.
"Coach, I don't want to commit if I'm going to be behind the backup."
"Son, we need you as part of our three deep."
I also think it fits well with Franklin's more equitable distribution of NIL, rather than spending it all on the high-ranked starters. It also relates to him wanting competition at every position. Will it work? We'll see.
Is there no scout team anymore? Seems like a perfect place to have that 3rd stringer.
Well, he didn't say he wouldn't use the portal to get the 3 deep. or at least I don't remember him saying that.

# | Hokie Hoops Central: Virginia Tech (16-7, 4-5) at NC State (17-6, 8-2) Noon CW Network Thanks for the explanation. It is a great way to waste time at the end of the game. We should have employed it a few times this year!
Anytime a 3rd stringer gets a rep its one less rep for your starters and backups. Since practice times are still limited this could be an issue, especially when you're trying to fix a team that plays sloppy.
Wenzel and Baker need to be much more efficient offensively this game for VT to have a shot.
State lost to Clemson on the road because they didn't have Zam Jones that game.
They've lost to a lot of good teams in very close games. This is a very good team that can beat you multiple ways. VT needs to bring their A game.
Well,... its Never
Went to the game today, went about as I expected. State focused on making Hansberry inefficient and Hammond nonexistent. No one else was able to win matchups.
Thought State did a good job of mixing their double teams in the post to confuse VT.
Refs didn't cost VT the game, shooting cost them the game. Hopefully Neo is starting to fight through the wall he has hit recently.
There's opportunity to get wins still and win a couple in the ACC tourney and who knows, VT might be in Dayton.
5 seconds begins when the player touches the ball after the ref hands it back to him. It's a great way to waste time end of game. State did the same thing against SMU late.
It's supposed to be delay of game but it's never called

We were up 19-12. Now down 31-23 in the blink of an eye. Wow.
