You listed the big knock on Amaker though in your argument for him. He coached at Michigan for six years. His best finish in the BIG10 was tied for 3rd one year. This is back when the BIG10 was really ten teams. He finished 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th in the other years there. This is at a program with a huge basketball history that should have been a major plus for him to utilize in bringing in talent. He only made three NIT tournaments in his time there.
I agree he has done well at Harvard but I worry that its a big fish in a teeny tiny pond situation. Four straight conference championships and three straight NCAA tournament appearances. Lets look at the strength of schedule in all that though. This year Harvard is 0-1 against the top 25, same against 26-50, 2-0 against 51-100, 9-1 against 101-200, and 14-1 against 201+. Final tally: 213th schedule out of 345 teams
He is winning a ton of games but against what competition? The ACC has 6 teams in the Top 50, 3 more from 50-100. Half his ACC slate would give him games against the Top 100. This season Virginia Tech had the 82nd ranked schedule mainly due to the 163rd ranked OOC schedule we had.
Has he been successful with his defensive pressure early in the NCAA tourney over the last few years? Yes, but once he goes up against a team that can shoot or break his shell-man defense by driving the ball inside, they get mowed down.
I am not saying he wouldn't be a good coach, but I think that there are quite a few candidates I would prefer to see before they go with Amaker.

Although the fact sheet does state that the events occurring in the video are actually happening and it's abuse. So it can lead someone to come to that conclusion since it is very careful with its use of the word "abuse." Such as stating a paragraph above that states along the lines of "Some women are forced" and then goes along saying that when watching pornography they are watching the abuse of a woman.
Seems more like it's deeper than raising awareness with facts and more of a moral issue with the author, mostly due to the broad generalizations and intentionally misleading presentation of some information.
But can that guy do the sine of 36.87 degrees in his head?
I didn't want to pick MSU like all the experts, but I couldn't justify it. I remember how good MSU was at the beginning of this year (especially against us). That Pain kid is really good, not to mention their guards. I think they will pull it off against Duke in the finals.

Your fact sheet actually doesn't say that all women in porn are forced or coerced. It actually says quite the opposite. Read the page on pornography, then refer to fernley hokie's study. To say that all of these women are forced is just incorrect.
Furthermore, it is certainly judgemental of you to assume that all women who choose a line of work in which they do something that you don't approve of have some type of emotional defect or were forced to do so. This used to be a common opinion about people who are homosexual or involved in interracial relationships, that they must have had some type of emotional scarring to want to live that lifestyle. I think that we need to realize that everyone is different, and while the sex trade and sexual slavery are certainly problems, not every instance of someone performing in pornography is abuse.

But I think you have that backwards. I am neither offended by what you said nor by what this girl is doing. But you seem to be offended by both her and me.
In fact, I'm not trying to disprove what you say at all. Your opinion is your own and yours freely to give, which is the point I am making about this girl making her own decisions. I am just commenting on your opinions with my own opinion. That's not being offended.
If the biggest hang up on him is where he recruits I feel like that is something that is relatively easily fixed? Granted I have no idea how coaches build relationships with AAU or high school coaches, but if the winning is easy I feel like getting the kids from different areas shouldn't be too difficult.
I think a lot of people in this thread are missing the point of the article. While places like Underground and River Mill might be great bars, they aren't typical "college bars." A lot of these lists look for bars that are packed with co-eds and offer more of a party scene rather than things like an extensive beer list. If you go downtown on the weekends you'll see that TOTS and Big Al's are really the only two bars that can be considered as Blacksburg's best "college bar." Recently the trend has become that most Greeks hang out at Big Al's with a little bit of everything at TOTS.
TechHokie13, I know what your talking about with sex trafficking. I spent a lit of time supporting the organization Not For Sale and got quite familiar with the subject. (The book Invisible Chains is a great book I recommend everyone to read if the want to inform themselves on the issue.) But this is a vastly different situation where she is actively making the choice to go into the sex business. No one (at least that we can know) is forcing here to do this and taking their payment to leave her nothing. I do not agree with her, but she has the right to do what she wants.
