Am I the only one who thinks it odd that Muschamp didn't appear to know about Ford's intention to play basketball as well? The conversation implied to me that Muschamp hadn't even talked to FL's bball coach about potential options concerning Ford
In other news... Zumwalt has the smallest hands of any linebacker at the combine which basically means he is a horrible person with little hands.
Has Ryan Williams played in a regular season game yet? Hate for his injuries, but those paychecks must be nice.
Bravo, sir. Excellent write up, very informative.
It's crazy to think of how things were NOT that long ago...
I like the way this sounds! It just sure would be nice if we could get one or two of these guys to sign on in the next couple of months. I am just scared that if we dont have 2 or 3 by the mid to end of the summer, we may miss out again.
What are your thoughts on Harry Lewis, he has to be a lock right? Will he just play it out like Ricky Walker did for a little while?
Here's the best list I can find:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/playersearch?SCHOOL=Virginia+Tech
The list/stats don't necessarily tell the whole story with a lot of these guys in my opinion but it's a pretty good starting place for seeing where all the Hokies are in the nfl!
Having grown up in that area, I got to witness Dobbins and the Bobcats in those days. Be certain that his name arrived in town before he did. I also remember watching him and the Strock Air Attack. I cannot recall any mention of him being a first at Tech. To all of us local kids, black and white, who followed the team, he was simply a Hokie.
Phil Rogers probably was recruited out of Gate City by Coffey, but I don't think he started until 1975 one year after Jimmy Sharp came to town with his wishbone. By this time, there was a significant percentage of black players on the team.
Eli is overrated enough they might need to be thinking about his replacement. I think only Flacco is more overrated.
Scarily enough I understand that Terry Bradshaw was his backup QB at Louisiana Tech. Robertson turned down the NFL to make duck calls.
Corrected School.
Thanks, I knew it was one of those Louisiana schools.
Will Montgomery is still a center with the Washington Redskins, and Josh Morgan played with them the last two years, although he is a free agent and probably won't be back.
No one suggested this? I'm ashamed of you, TKPers...

awesome write up
Couple of corrections and some further comments on John....
John and I started Radford High in 8th grade....Yes, Radford High School started us in 8th grade. We were called Junior Freshmen..
John and Lena Saunders were the first two "Negro" students and they were the two best academically from the all black school system. In addition, John was a great athlete and Lean a talented singer.
I have always thought they were "test" students to quiet any concerns the white community might have had.
Truth is, I never remember any problems of any kind between the races in Radford. Our band was the Radford Rebels and many black students wore the uniform of the Old South.
John and I graduated Radford in the spring of 1969 and graduated from Tech in 1973 not '72 along with Don Strock and Alan Bristow.
I went on to med school and lost track of most of the guys from Radford.
Great reading this article and hope I shed some further light on those times.....
GO HOKIES
It'd basically be bringing the BCS back.
Additionally, did anyone else hear about ESPN's blunder regard the Daytona 500 yesterday? Fox Sports played a replay of last year's 500 during the rain delay and ESPN was reporting the positions of the drivers based on the replay and not the actual race. Apparently a lot of ppl thought that Jimmy Johnson won the race long before the rain delay was even over.
It's really strange that they tweeted that when this article on ESPN's frontpage talks about how subpar his bench press was and how a lot of gm's were unimpressed that he didn't compete in the cone drill and position specific drills. Sometimes you have to wonder what is going on over there.

Excellent article and I really enjoyed it. I also liked the sly wit that you managed to integrate, as usual. Well done, sir, well done. What an amazing story.
Well now, let's not jump to conclusions. He could have been perfectly happy with his 40 time. Maybe his neck is still just a little sore though.
I've always thought our field was bland. Why not paint the 20 yard line with a maroon stripe and an orange stripe? Put a maroon border around the entire field, and actually fill the end zone backgrounds in maroon and orange (maroon in one and orange in the other).
I'll award turkey legs for appropriate Scrubs references til the day I die.
Logan is wowing the scouts with his 40 times...
Zumwalt is turning heads during his 40 as well:
Zumwalt Profanity
The link is SFW the video on the page is NSFW
Good to see his true colors shining through.
Was not aware of any of this. Very nicely done sir.
Sweat is a VT lean right now. Some people just think he will take the Nnadi route, which is understandable. Barnett already said that Tech is still is favorite. Jalen Christian and Clelin Ferrell, two highly rated four star prospects are both considered Tech leans. Marcus Lewis is another guy that is strongly considering Tech. While Darvin Taylor may be an FSU lean right now, Tech has CJ Reavis to recruit him, FSU doesn't. Austin Clark and Matthew Burrell are looking at out of state schools but could end up Tech when it's all said and done. And not to mention we are moving up for Settle and there are a bunch of other good prospects such as Harry Lewis, Darrell Taylor, and Trevor Hill who are considered Tech leans plus more and some will pop up that we have no idea about right now. So the sky is not falling, like you seem to think. There is nearly a year until signing day, relax.

It's good to know that Tech was pretty much inclusive of Dobbins (minus those fans).
