At the time I loved the sleeve, but then we got embarrassed by Miami at home on national TV. For the rest of my life, when I see this jersey my knee jerk reaction will be that of pain and disgust.
Thank you sir. I think black history month shouldn't just be for black folks, but instead should be for all Americans to learn something about the struggle blacks endured and/or gain perspective on how black history helped shape the American present. I think you've done both of those things with this article, bravo.
I don't highlight that to disparage Coach Beamer in any way, merely to demonstrate that while we take many things for granted in society today, things were very different for many of us not that long ago.
I loved that part because it is kind of fascinating to think about. The Rosa Parks incident happened in 1955, only 59 years ago. The first public school to get integrated was in 1957, just 57 years ago. And the civil rights act banning segregation was signed in 1964, only 50 years ago. 50 years, that's 25 years before I was born and around the time my parents were born (personally, that gave me great perspective yesterday as I was researching this stuff). For some reason, those things feel like they took place forever ago but it really wasn't that long ago at all. We have a long ways to go as a country but we've come A LONG WAY in just 60 years.

I have high expectations for this kid. I expect him to average 40 points a game in both basketball and football. I expect him to block 10 shots and 30 cornerbacks per game. I expect him to be the starting kicker so that he can drain 3 pointers on each field. I expect him to double major in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

I would have asked them a couple questions.
1. Do you grade on the morality/immorality of the uses?
2. Do you need me to list them all, or just tell you a number?
3. If you need me to list them, how much time do we have for this response?
4. Are my responses confidential should you ask me how I know about some of the uses I list?
5. What type of brick are we talking about here, as there are several different types made from several different materials?
I feel like the last 4 games we finally switched to zone defense and it was keeping us in these games. The first half against NCSU we stuck with the same game plan but TJ Warren was just too good against the zone and we needed to make a change. Once we put Wilson on him, it slowed NCSU down for a little bit, but then our players got tired from the man to man defense and they pulled away. I think we are going to have a similar problem with Duke because they have multiple players who can be dominant on the offensive end. But I will watch and hope we can somehow pull it off.
I said that about our defensive approach last week too. It works against average to below average offensive teams, but Duke can shoot and if we give a team like that open looks they will make us pay.

I bought that jersey like a week or 2 before the 06 Gator bowl and tried to pass it off as a Tyrod jersey for years but the sleeve is a dead giveaway that its a MV5 jersey.

Partially, yes. This is also why you see a lot of the reporters talking about players 10 yard split time for James Gayle where they are looking for initial burst. Other positions, like RB, WR, CB, and Safety they use the 40 to guage their ability to break away and stay away or keep up with depending on the side of the ball they are on. It also gives them a better idea of endurance when looking at linemen and such, so while the time might not matter at 40 yards for a DT, what the player does immediately after finishing it is what the scouts may be watching.
I will admit that I have looked over these websites over and over again over the last year and a half, only to tell you that with the exception of the more expensive version of the uniforms from this year, these sale prices (I'm 90 percent certain), are not new. I got a white LT3 jersey from campus emporium for 45 dollars during the middle of this football season.
I completely agree. A lot of the people that participate are local people and love the fact they can play in Cassell and interact with some of the athletes. Men's basketball usually shows up if they aren't on the road and Women's Soccer was there this year, which I think they are usually there as well. It's been a lot of fun being able to work this event the last three years.
I think is uniform becomes tolerable through the lens of nostalgia. At the time it was tough to look at.
In fact, Marcus is tough to look at anytime.
