Count me into the vast numbers of people who didn't do it because they're "not into zombies". And then I bought a Vita from Amazon around Black Friday, and it came with the Telltale Games point-and-click. That game blew my mind once I finally played it over Christmas, and singlehandedly convinced me to watch the show. And, 3 weeks later, I was all caught up (9th show now that I'm all caught up in... I have problems)
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't started really following recruiting when Leal was coming in, so this is really my first extended look at him, apart from live scrimmages. Something I'm noticing (which I really hope Lefty's been working on) is that he holds the ball too low in the pocket and especially when scrambling, that leads to a slightly elongated windup. Also, he has a tendency to not really drive off his back foot, especially on longer throws. That causes the ball to hang in the air just a little bit, which is mucho no bueno if throwing a deep post with a safety coming over the top. As you said, he has a very good feel for reaching the top of his drop and then-BOOM-the ball's out of there. If he can show in the spring that he's got a true mastery of the playbook, can take care of the ball (make good decisions) and has polished some things up mechanically, there's no reason at all he shouldn't earn the top spot come August.
Hey man, I hope you're right. From my personal experience, improvements are a process. I wouldn't be shocked if we competed in the ACC title game and put up a good fight though...if Travon is playing. And yep, I know full well that I say that without ever seeing the kid in a tech uni.
I've seen enough athletic guys making it happen at QB, even with little talent around.
We didn't look too good in the first period but still came out of it up 3-1, pretty good sign. Can't wait to get some revenge on Canada.
The NFL is learning that B.O.O.B, the home of DBU, is the source of the Proverbial Abyss Secret Society, of which Kyle Fuller is a high ranking member!
BAM!
Congrats on reaching 2k!
man, now i'm craving a five guys burger... thanks a lot
Clemson 06 is the only VT game I've seen live to date, left Liberty that afternoon missing my accounting class, met my dad and my sister in Christiansburg, low-fived Sean Glennon as the players made their way to the stadium, made the long climb about 2/3s of the way up the east stands, bounced to Enter Sandman, screamed til my throat hurt and then screamed a little more, and just had an all around great time.
Apparently a bunch of other people missed that accounting class, so the professor decided to pick two midterm questions from stuff that was only discussed in that class and wasn't in the book, going to the game was definitely worth missing those two questions.
that was andrew brown
You're damn right he is
The best man will win the job out of the five guys who will be competing.
You know, in my 47 years as a Hokie football fan I don't recall ever being able to say that.
Was there ever any doubt?
JJ has had his share of players leave the program or opt out and stay out once it was announced he was going to be the head coach.
May 1st, 2012 Johnson hired
May 8th, 2012 Finney-Smith announces his transfer
May 10th, 2012 Montrezl Harrell asks for release from NLI He was released on May 17th, a week later.
March 26th, 2013 Robert Brown requests release from his scholarship
December 27th, 2013 Marquis Rankin leaves the program
Wood is rumored to be leaving after the season is over. F-S and Harrell were both available to convince to stay by the time JJ took the job. Were there other powers at play in both these decisions? Sure, AAU coaches being hired mysteriously into both Florida and Louisville when Seth got fired and other doings but JJ had a chance to convince both of them to stay.
Brown was unhappy at Tech, there was family stuff, but still it boiled down to anticipated playing time and his inability to shake the slump he had fallen into on the court.
Rankin had family stuff going on as well and all reports are JJ did everything right in supporting him, but still another player that left.
The inability to anticipate the issues with Mueller and Clark as a program when counting them as part of this class is another issue that falls to inexperience in the program as a whole and is a big part of JJ's job when it comes to incoming students.
The poor handling of the discipline issues with Raines and Wood this season are another point that jump out a big negative for me as well. All of these issues fall to JJ, so that's about half the kids that have left the program in recent years or have been unavailable and JJ wasn't able to adjust. Hopefully this off season goes smoothly and none of the incoming recruits have issues. Kirby and Mueller should be active next season, Smith should be healthy, but there is that looming issue on the potential of Wood leaving. Guess we shall see.
This was the greatest non game to ever be not played!!!
Check out Andy's answer almost immediately after I posted it about Exum
Another great one. I hope he can play himself into a late 2nd or 3rd round draft spot. That would be awesome.
It's his ninja telepathy. He'll totally mind rape you and you won't realize it for hours. No escape.
That's good.
Ah! My bad.
Well, he is in great shape for a 280 pounder. When he moved back to middle linebacker, he didn't look large for the position.
I'm going to watch the reair of it at 5. I was trying to keep up with the updates of it at work today as much as I could but that was a fail.
I'm not going to pretend to know if he was under-prepared or just became a deer in the headlights against UCLA but hopefully he uses it to it's full "learning experience" potential and shows up from here on out.
As excited as I am for our new recruits, I also like seeing a guy that's put in the work for years show us what he can do. Also, I'd like to not hear people calling for him (whoever he is) to be benched as soon as he loses a coin toss.
Way better than any rap I've ever heard put on a highlight video. Very Sam Spence-esque.
That was actually the first game of LT3's career that he didn't start and finish I believe. Sort of like Flacco.

I know I for one would buy season tickets for basketball and catch all the baseball, soccer ect (no matter how bad we were) games I could if I lived in the NRV and not 4 hours away.
