Well, sounds like you lucked out. And hopefully the interstates are cleared in time for your girlfriend to visit this weekend.

(sorry, I had to do it. I also understand the long distance thing, it sucks. I've been doing it for 6.5 years now.)

My first two nights I was staying in a guest room at the lab I'm working at. It's about 10 km out of town and not really near anything, so I had to improvise. Now that I'm moved into my apartment, I've been experiencing a little more of the local cuisine. Although, my budget is very limited, so I haven't been able to explore as much as I'd like to. Europe ain't cheap.

Edit: My 900 Watts interpretation was spot on, that's pretty much exactly what I did.

I don't know if this will affect Virginia at all but the local weather station in Burnsville, NC is reporting light snow and a dry spot in the storm...essentially saying that we're not going to get even close to what people were predicting.

man I love shit that works automagically

It's amazing to me that Tech has only pulled one guy from the state of Tennesee since 2002 (Woody Baron). I get the UT factor, just figured that at some point there would have been more recruits that either they didn't target or recruit that hard that we did, just based off of our proximity to the state.

Hey congrats man! I remember saying you were on the way out to... Europe correct?

Not sure why your eating off the frozen food aisle though. Go out and explore. Find some place and start pointing to things on a menu.

and for your info 900 watts means: just nuke it for 2 minutes and see what happens, then 2 more just in case.

Correct! A TKP app is unnecessary. The website automatically adjusts its layout based on the device the user is browsing from. And I think I mentioned it before, but it would provide an unnecessary overhead and complexity to the code base. Right now when I add a feature, I only update one piece of code and it automagically works on all devices. If I had to support an iPhone and Android app as well, it would be three times the updates. I can't fit that into my schedule.

If someone wanted to make a six-figure donation, I could hire a full time engineer, but I think that money would be better budgeted for more content.

Somewhat related, you can donate money to us: http://www.thekeyplay.com/support.

Oh, I know he heard it, but imagine LT3 himself commenting on TKP any time soon after those games. I just don't think it's a great idea for players to be active on fan sites for their team.

I wonder how exactly he came by those values...

I know the best way to solve the debate. At the official TKP tailgate next year, we need pies and cakes, and whichever is eaten more is the winner. Obviously.

man... shits getting crazy. just checked and random heads are gone but still can't see more than half of profile pics. My profile pic was the cartoonish decade of dominance image I made of the Hokie Bird hitting Cav Man with "Boom" in the background.

I've been trying to reload it but for some reason every time I hit save it goes to an error page, however I was able to load a different image of Hokie Bird and Smokey from UT on mario karts. Not sure if that is what you see.

I am on my laptop using Chrome and Explorer. But I am using a VPN to tunnel through the great firewall. That thing acts up now and then but I've never seen anything like this happen.

I checked and Chazz and others that had changed now just don't appear. Will get a screen shot but it looks like it's just me. Running the full sweep of anti-virus, etc now too.

I am trying to find the link to where I saw he had given his verbal. I know the 247 prediction has one prediction to UMD but I am pretty certain I had seen a link stating he gave a verbal on an unofficial visit to UMD.

No, it's not powered by vBulletin. The website uses Drupal, an open source content management system (CMS) that manages everything. That's why you don't need multiple user accounts (i.e. one to post in the forum, one for articles), and everything is part of one overall design. There's also a lot of custom code that I wrote.

I wasn't saying you didn't know the conversion, just giving my quick mental way of getting a temperature estimate. Sitting there and calculating out C*1.8 + 32 is a pain in the ass, why not use something quick and dirty to get close enough.

Also, that was my point, using inexact calculations to determine a decent estimate, which is what engineers do every day. That's a large reason why we have factors of safety. Engineering is all about finding better ways to estimate, and choosing a factor of safety that is adequate yet as little wasteful as possible. We don't deal in exact numbers, we leave that to the physicists.

Great breakdown by French as always.
I think if he was on the team last year he would have had the best vision of anyone involved in the running game. I like how when the pocket collapses he doesn't really get flushed out to the side but eludes defenders and when he abandons throwing he attacks the holes. Obviously, this is from seeing the best of his highlight film but its very encouraging to see. I almost think the QB competition comes down to how the O-Line performs. If they can hold pass rushes then a pocket passer would be more effective, but if they get overwhelmed often I would want Durkin back there to make big plays out of nothing

Considering the amont of time and work Joe put into making the site mobile friendly, I doubt you'll see a TKP app.

haha... you don't know how accurate that is man. Could be some douche on the great firewall having some fun.

is the forum powered by vBulletin? i'm no tech guru, but wouldn't it be easy to get existing vB apps to support TKP?

I just hope no one at VT has the bright idea to implement a two QB system again like we did with Taylor & Glennon. Just pick one of these QBs as the starter and red-shirt one guy and make the other a back-up.

The people have spoken. According to you great people of TKP as noted in Joe's email, Pie is the winner. If you argue with math, you will lose.
