# | Bitter blog - Would you rather see a 9-game ACC schedule or a yearly ACC-SEC matchup? Not a fan of the neutral site games and I am pretty sure the SEC wouldn't be either. Most of those teams have 7 home games a year, why would they want to give one up.
I just can't see the SEC wanting to man up enough to play the ACC every year even if it was a dedicated "rival". Other than a natural rivalry with Tenn or Texas A&M (Cadet schools) most of the ACC doesn't have a natural rival with an SEC opponent. No shared states, etc.
I would rather see 9 ACC games so we play FSU and Clemson more often than ND.

We offered multiple high ranking QB recruits last year and ended up with our 4th and 5th choices. Where we stand right now for recruiting rarely has an impact on NSD. Last year, we felt really good that a class of Cornwell, Hand, Holmes and Elijah Hood would be the best of all time. UVA was asssured of landing Stroman, Keihn and Phillips.
The two most interesting recruiting changes we have seen with this staff are:
1. Moorehead making us a major playing in the DC/Md market again, and
2. Grimes and Loeffler going whereever the talent is and not just taking the best OL and QB's in a 4 hour drive. Hopefully Searles will continue what Grimes started.
1) run oriented offense 2) he missed almost half the season his senior year. And, (I am sorry to these kids because I know they read this) but he was running for his life a bunch.
Well... he's from VA and not from the 757. Hampton Roads doesn't get snow often.
He can satisfy that craving in Blacksburg now.
I def see where you are coming from... when was the last time we were able to keep any coach from any sport from leaving? Just hoping things change with the new AD.
"... act like you've been there before" is, I believe, the phrase.
He's a great coach and even more importantly, is starting to look like an elite recruiter. We're gaining momentum in the recruiting circuits with guys like Shane, Moorehead, Loeffler, and now Searles. We really can't afford to let these guys go every offseason, and we should so whatever we can to at least keep Shane, Moorehead, and Loeffler in house over the long haul (unless they get an offer for a higher position at another school) so we can keep this momentum going. From what it looks like, we're aiming very high in recruiting for next year, with multiple 5* QBs already offered. Exciting times, and I am loving every second of it.
LB Mike Mitchell to transfer from Ohio State back to home state of Texas to be closer to his dad. This leaves OSU a little light in the backer position.

Texas A&M would want us back in their neighborhood, since we beat them there the last time we were there. I want to see Lane rocking when they come!
Also, why would the ACC want to expand the reach of the SEC? I wouldn't do that! The media will go to these games at the home fields and the atmosphere would be electric! Both conferences get to be showcased in their environment and regions. Its a Win-Win.
Also, with this we need to have a more rotation based 8-game ACC schedule and no more embedded cross-conference rivals.
That combination makes sense to me.
whoever wins this qb battle will tell us a ton about Loeffler's offense moving forward

He's got an awesome arm for a tight end.
What a difference this new staff has made in recruiting on offense, and I'm really excited for our future!

Great analysis...again. To me its clear from this and the Andrew Ford analysis that (A) Leal is gonna be looking in his rear view mirror in the Spring, (B) Ford is gonna surprise us all, and (C) Durkin is right on their heels.
In summary, I think Ford gets the starting QB job with Durkin used in a platooning concept like Duke did last year. I see Lefty's thoughts in these kids talents. The competition is going to be so high that they all get better and stay focused. The potential is huge.

The NCAA calls any scholarship athlete a "counter". A counter who plays football always counts against football. A counter who plays basketball but not football always counts against football. Men's Hockey is the 3rd tier, and women's volleyball is the 4th tier.
Beyond that, you have some freedom with how you assign which sport to count a player against, but it is pretty much supposed to be the sport that said player was recruited for, or is best suited for.
