As long as its not on a shallow crossing route over the middle..or anywhere with the ball in your hands..in those cases it does matter.
Mike Vick wasn't here to do those things, he got a chance to be a number 1 overall draft pick. Not just Joe Flacco's mustache stylist, err, backup QB.
Sounds awesome! I don't think Tyrod will funnel people to VT but would definately inform them of what it's like. Again, I believe he'll run a much classier organization than the breds who as stated above are just local and trash Tech for whatever reason they do. Looking forward to seeing this happen.
weather.gov is currently reporting 1-3 inches tomorrow during the day and 1-3 tomorrow during the night...so 2-6 in Weaverville, NC.
Jason Worlds said he was from the lunchpail defense multiple times this year.
Unfortunately we have exhausted our Fuller supply for the next 18 or so years.

Yea, I thought what I heard in that previous 7v7 thread that what was questionable in what could be (in the future) an NCAA regulated concept was (A) how it was being run, (B) the coaching personnel involved and their real motivation ($ and target colleges), and (C) the target university channeling. If someone, like Tyrod, Vick, Kam, etc. were to run a similar concept but run it in a solid, ethical manner and not do C above and just use their Hokie and NFL creds as the unspoken word, then I think that would be a great thing. I understand that wouldn't necessarily be the guaranteed path to VT for the talent, but certainly we would have an increased probability of getting that 5* talent.
The kids are gonna ask questions and if the coaches and organizational leads are VT grads they are going to answer from their experience which includes....tada... VT!! We should all embrace this model of 7v7 as it would never be in the NCAA grey zone and place VT in the forefront on the right side of the Force! We all should want these kids to get that kind of VT exposure while they make their decisions to go where it will develop their talents and fit their needs best...and that includes, perhaps, not going to VT.
Very true. VERY few young talents in Europe go this route. It would be tough in Germany to be in school and play competative soccer reguarly so I guess in the U.S he can get both.
Best example ever was Barry Sanders. He'd shake and weave through an entire defense to the end zone then hand off the ball to the ref and go back to the sidelines without a word.
Thank you for the analysis, French. This is new and exciting. I am used to watching film for "Skill players," DBs, LBs and TEs. It is refreshing to see actual offensive linemen, playing in position, and looking promising at this early point in his career. Beats the heck out of watching TE or DL film knowing they will likely end up a OL convert.
DeAngelo Hall may have a bone to pick with you about that one. Definitely top 5 though.
Not many others have Super Bowl winners rings!
No doubt!
If only he had not blown that Miami game in 2005.... what could have been.
Kam could retire today and be the 3rd most famous VT alum to play in the NFL.
Nailed it!
Sounds like a University of Miami Junior Day to me
Great job French! Can't wait to see him on the field
First of all..thank you so much for keeping everyone posted. It's been awesome having our own resident meteorologist...I don't know if you could clarify things a little bit for me though because west of Charlotte is a big area for NC. From what I've been hearing around here it seems like Marion will get hammered pretty hard but places like Marshall and Burnsville won't get quite as much. I don't know if you could give some insight for me there but I'm curious what I'll be dealing with. I live in Weaverville and will be driving through(near) Marshall to get to work in Burnsville.
Thanks again for all the info..it's been interesting and could prove to be very helpful!
Cheers!
You're helping a lot of folks. Great work!! Gotta be a Hokie!!
Just some food for thought to the discussion as most of the relevant points have already been made, but is anyone else out there really curious as to what would have happened if Marcus Vick wasn't a complete turd?
I think from a quarterback skill perspective, he was better than his big brother. Obviously not as athletic (but not that far off), but in terms of accuracy, etc. Oh what could have been
ooph that seems to be a common question here and my gut feeling is....snow for a majority of the snow that will turn to sleet/rain. As we creep into Thursday the 850 MB readings are showing some warmer air moving into the atmosphere, so for Richmond id venture they get some snow on wed going into early Thursday but it will turn into rain much sooner than it will for everyone else. I'd venture to say 1-3" for Richmond.
As for Blacksburg im gonna up the forecast a little bit. I'm going to venture to say 9"-11" of snow for us throughout the period a little up from my 8-10, I really like the 9 number mostly because I can post things like this...
9"!!!!
anywho looking at northern Virginia id expect close to a foot of snow as it seems the track of the storm is going right up central VA and the blue ridge region and heading right at you id venture to say 10+ inches for you guys as well
north Carolina - id expect a large snowfall event west of charolette. possibly 14 inches or more (don't count on that) but it will be a lot, east of charolette and south Carolina all the way down to Georgia is looking at a HUGE freezing rain/ice event that could leave 3/4" of ice in certain regions. So if you live further south PLEASE take my advice and stock up on water TP and things to keep you warm, power going out is a strong possibility. also furthermore this will be a very wet, heavy snow which could lead to lots of falling tree branches and loss of power, so be forewarned.
Id expect this to hit around noon on Wed. with this storm also expect some slight winds, possibly around 10 MPH gusts....any more questions feel free to ask a few more questions!!!!

We don't know if TT's 7v7 would become a VT pipeline. True, TT loves the Hokies, but I seriously doubt his motivation is VT recruiting.
Dwight Vick, Michael's and Marcus' cousin, is heavily involved with a company called College Prep World (website currently being redesigned) that helps students get ready for college and hosts football camps. Michael has helped out these camps. If you know Dwight, you know he's a huge Hokie fan (does columns on vtscoop.com). However, he's already on record (can't find the source, so this is from memory) that his high-school prep courses will not be influencing recruits to VT. I would argue based on TT's personality, TT's 7v7 would be the same. It's about developing athletes into men, not about VT recruiting.
