I'm as rapt as the next Hokie in regards to recruiting but IMO I don't think there is any reason to sweat recruits taking their visits. Hard, soft or flacid verbals all mean nothing until a kid signs his LOI. Until that time I think kids are going to fall into 2 categories. Ones that want to get recruiting done quickly and ones that want to enjoy the ride and possibly see what's on the other side of the fence. Either way they are non-committed until Feb 5.
The ones that want to be a Hokie will be and those are the ones I prefer play for VT. This is why I think situations like Brady Taylor are fine. He publicly wanted to play for OSU and when he got what he wanted he took it. Great for him. Would I have preferred he stayed with VT? Of course, but I support any 17/18 year old kid considering all their options and choosing what they feel is right for them.
(I realize this is not what you are really saying. Just stating my thoughts. +1 for the info which I appreciate a lot)
He is one impressive person, not just a football player. That takes alot of guts to do what he did in a football environment much less in the regular world, even today. Hopefully that does not do anything to his draft possibilities.

Not sure if this is a coincidence also, but Ashton retweeted a tweet by a reporter saying he would take official visits including to Ohio State and will visit Maryland as well. Not sure if he planned to do so all along or if this is related to yesterdays tweets but I guess we can put Ashton in the same category as Mook as a "soft commit" as of now.

He is not big enough to fulfill the prototype of a 4-3 defensive end in the NFL, and as he showed in Senior Bowl practices, he isn't agile (or experienced) enough in space to make an immediate impact as a 3-4 outside linebacker. He could get stuck as a 'tweener, a player without a true position, something that has afflicted many great college players in the pros. But he can rush the passer, and his motor, his passion for football, and his willingness to learn and work will give him a fighting chance.

Kevin McCadam. Played Free Safety in 01. I remember going to some HKC team autograph session my very first time in Blacksburg and everybody was all over Lee Suggs. I went down to talk to some of the defensive guys, and McCadam ended up tossing the ball around with me for a while. Been a Hokie fan ever since.
Yeah good for him. Does anyone else find it a little odd, though, that the SEC defensive player of the year is projected so low in the draft? I know some players don't translate well between college and the NFL, but that's extreme.
What a freakin boss. Kudos to the teammates for being supportive of him too.

Lots of talk in many Hokie circles about how Mihota compares to John Engleberger. Besides the fact that Engleberger was a walk on tight end and 200 pounds when he came to Blacksburg, you can watch some tape and decide.

Neither do I. It's his prerogative to explore all options and make the best decision for himself whether he's committed or not.

Guys, leave this stuff out of the board. This is for discussing the Hokies. He isn't a Hokie anymore. If you have knowledge of someone committing a criminal act, contact the police. Don't post it on a message board. Without any evidence, I regard this as slanderous.
I just got over one NSD. It's too early for me to worry about next year's (unless VT wants to pay me like the coaches...).
He did, but he didn't expect it to the extent the filmmakers did it. It sounds like he also wasn't happy with the jersey scene.
I consider any snow over 3" to be significant in Richmond. Must be fun for the kids in school.
Sounds sorta like Vince Hall - total stud in college, but just not quite what they're looking for in the pros. Still really hope someone finds a spot for him. If he slips down the draft, someone could end up with a stud who can rush the passer for cheap.
