2014 per rivals.
...How many kickers do we have coming in this year?
2015?
I dunno, I predict Coleman will be our #2/#3 this fall. At least 2 of Williams, McKenzie and Reid will red-shirt.
Bummer then.
247's predictions aren't updated that frequently. I'd go more by the articles/tweets you read than the predictions you see.
I'm not a subscriber but I saw somewhere where some guy who is a subscriber said that VT is out of it. He could be wrong however.
One time I dreamed that I forgot about a game and missed it. I cried.
Forgive me if I don't know what I'm talking about, but 247sports still says VT is favorite.
I think our NSD is turning out better than our season. our class should end up top 25 and potentially top 15 if we sign every target (unlikely)
Well. That was a fun 7 day ride we all went on if this is true. Gotta love college recruiting.
I like JJ as a coach, he is a great guy and took over in a poor situation. I think it is way to early to can him as he has only had the opportunity to bring in one recruiting class. Especially since when he took over as HC and some of our previous recruits decommited. It's tough to win with a team of freshman with no star player in the ACC
I recall that a lot of folks said Ekanem was going to Tech leading in to NSD. Agreed on the other two, although there was a lot of justified fear that Saban's lure would pull in Korven.
All that said, there are lots of scenarios here, but for me Nnandi is key. The others are important in their own ways, but he is a piece like Kendall was last year in putting us in position to compete on the big stage in a couple of years.
But, let's be clear.....I WANT THEM ALL.
There are a lot of things that other schools can do that Tech's Athletic Department doesn't. As has been discussed ad nauseam, the department is stuck in the past and not innovating. Hopefully the new AD gets things up to the 21st century.
It looks like Chuck is taking the ole log to the beaver!
Would be nice to get this kind of talent, especially on offense. But let's be realistic, a good # of folks didn't even know this kids name a week ago. If he goes somewhere else, what can you do?
At least he spurned ND worse that us I suppose
Hokie club, bread bowls, pasta, wraps, west end brunch. In fact the broil wasn't even what I got the most, one of the lower list items for me.
I didn't downvote...but I can see why someone might. That's asking a lot for your unpaid band members to travel on their own free time and perform for a very small amount (25 dollars or so) to see a very crummy game. The band doesn't exactly receive the same benefits as the athletes playing the game.
No need to point fingers at band members who work darn hard without any compensation.
Looks like French is takin' the Express Train to Tunatown!

+1 but do we really want Sue Heck as the representative for our hopes and dreams?
Ill just have to wait til NSD. All this chatter and rumors etc etc is getting to me lol
you speak of heresy
I wonder why he reached out to VT. Maybe he just doesn't like Blacksburg
You don't do a grab bag promotion, use the student ID's to swipe and then reward, you also have to swipe on the way out. Somehow VCU manages to do this but Tech can't?

I would tend to agree with you here. I think McKenzie will RS to take care of that knee. Williams, to me, seems like the only incoming guy who could see meaningful minutes this season. It will be interesting to see how he picks up the playbook though. I know there has been speculation that Caleb didn't see a whole lot of time because of one or both of the following reasons: 1. He couldn't pass protect (although, as a linebacker, I figured he could do that) 2. He had trouble picking up the playbook. I could see either of those potentially slowing down any of the new guys (Williams included).
That being said, with Edmunds likely missing all of summer and most of spring I'm not sure how ready he'll be for the start of the season. He's our best option at the moment if he's healthy but that's kind of a question mark at this stage. Coleman is the 'scat' back but doesn't seem to be much of a power runner. If Edmunds can't go then I think it comes down to Williams or Caleb for the power running game...whichever one has the best spring. Jerome Wright could be the wild card for that option, but I have a feeling he'll stay at FB. I think there must have been a reason he didn't get an opportunity until the Sun Bowl, and I suspect the coaches will stand by that.
Mangus is also tough to read. He didn't play much but he seemed to do fairly well with the opportunities he had. I thought he was deceptively quick (but I'm not French or Mason so what do I know..) but there must be something lacking from his game to justify not giving him more minutes. I don't see him surpassing coleman this off season given the fact he couldn't do that during all of last season.
